What is with this death bug???
Just had 3 survivors all die at the same time sleeping for no reason. This has been happening a lot lately.

Otherwise they can be exhausted by overworking etc.

I noticed that sometimes a medical cross "+" will appear on the characters picture when they have a medical issue, but not always. I have had several characters have a moderate infection without this indicator, and then suddenly die. I assumed they died from the infection, however, their health did not tick down.

I've never had anyone die from an infection - yet. But I always keep a good stock of antibiotics for just this reason. Had one die of pneumonia once when antibiotics ran out at the end of winter. Since then I kep a healthier stock of them.
One time a survivor starved to death while recovering from wounds. No one was available to feed him as everyone was in bed recovering.

The red indicator bar below their portrait is their health bar.. if they are bleeding to death from a fight and no one has the know how or ability or you don't have first aid kits to heal them.. they gonna die. Since we don't have any screen shots or your save game to look at its kinda hard to tell you what may have happend.

Survivors can die from numerous things, so you have to pay attention all the time. If they get ill make sure you have antibiotics, bandages and medkits, someone (preferable everyone) with heal selected on activities, and make sure the person who is ill has "wait for treatment" selected. this will make sure they survive everything except instakill 1000 stomach shot by shreikers or basewipes.

Thank you everyone for your feedback and now I think I found the problem which turned out not to be a bug. But more this micromanaging with me and my eyesight which sadly is getting worse as I get older.

Just discovered a brand new illness I never knew was in the game.. the sleeping illness.. it gives your guys a 10% sleep deprivation debuff until Daniel discovered the cure. 500 hours ingame and this is the first time i've seen this illness.

Yeah, the sleep parasite is seed dependent.

Why are so many things seed dependent it just sucks....

Because it increases replayability, instead of just playing the game once and moving on...

Why that has anything to do replayablity? for example start a new game in rimworld at the start save your game than play the game as long as you want for example a in game year than reload your game and play the same year you will get completly 2 different game experience other than the map itself. there is a reason why these kind of games (rimworld, going medievel, stardeus) have extensive event systems that rect to your progress (like storytellers) thats what makes these games replayable. i really hope that having all those things tied to seed is just a placeholder untill the devs make a proper systems for that and not design choice.
