Yes, it's the same for me since the update. Only meat is dried, but no leather is made

I have been making leather, but on a start pre-patch.
Is it winter time? I noticed hide does not cure into leather or meat into dried meat during the cold winter time (frozen).

I had the same problem, thought they had fixed it, but it now still seems to be the same and not getting any leather put in my driers :-)

You basically need to find the hides on the ground and have a survivor force transport it. They really don't like going back for the hides after butchering an animal and collecting the meat. They just leave the hide on the ground to rot. This has been happening since day 1 and hasn't been addressed as far as I know.

Thanks or the info. mansman, how do you get them to force transport it?

UGH... glad it's not just me at least...

If we're gonna have to have leather to make stuff, then they need to fix the hauling/drying priority so it gets picked up and put in the dryer.

Wishful thinking but they could change it so whoever butchered the corpse will haul back whatever meat AND hides that dropped after butchering so we don't have to micromanage it so much. They seem to want to prioritize hauling back the meat, which is understandable since it has faster spoil timer than the hides. If they don't add it into the game, maybe we can get mods in the future that will allow survivors to haul different items at the same time within a specified range, with only drawback being total weight/quantity that person can carry.

Works fine for me.
Have you accidentally unclicked make leather option?

Or do you mean they don't auto pickup the hides? That's common, hides are the least important item in the game apparently.. keeping warm and having BOOTS isn't important to survivors on alien worlds.

However if you set everyone to only deliver.. they will eventually... move the hides.

You want to locate the item on the ground. Click on one of your survivor's portrait to select them. While selected, hover over the stack of hides on the ground and right-click. This should bring up a menu with an option to transport the stack. If there are multiple stacks in the area, the survivor MIGHT pick those up too. But sometimes you have to do it a stack at a time :(

Yeah, Thanks :-) A very cumbersome way of doing things, hope the improve on it.

There is a key bind "Z" says something along the lines of do all.
I just discovered it while looking for something else and have not attempted to use it yet, hope it works the way it sounds like it does.

Delivery demand gets high they won't touch stuff far out. I set delivery to 1 on all my people to get things moving. It pulls them away from their main job but they carry more when delivery than just going out to get what they need to cook, craft, and construct. Handle needs to be bumped up too or things like stoves don't get refilled.
I think it's best to have everyone on 1 for delivery/handle unless they have a speed penalty. Set main job to 2 with secondary to 3. You still have to micro manage but at least stuff like CPUs and hides don't rot out in the field.

When survivors are looking for delivery tasks they look for the closest options available. Hides are normally far outside your base and get ignored if you have things in your base that need to be delivered

I always force-haul the hide first, then go back for the meat. It's easy since the survivor automatically goes for the meat, and I want the hides, hence the force-haul. I didn't realize that was the "fix" for the bug, but I haven't lost hides since I started the practice.
the proplem is so many player dont understand resources are map based and not storage based
i have heal and haul delviver on 1 on all chars and then i start with 2 on the skill what the char need
so all time all resources are in the base and not on the map

but dont forget with this setup if you havest 1000 of resources never an char start cooking or crafting or building
