Aggressive Animals
Is there a game setting to reduce the frequency or number of aggressive animals?

I'm on year 3 day 22 with 5 survivors, and the only reason I got this far is because I found 2 sniper rifles and another laser pistol. But those weapons are about to be worn out and I certainly don't have any replacements except for bows or crossbows, which I don't think are going to cut it now that I'm getting Shrikers as the aggressive animals.

By that time you should have plenty of scrap metal, turrets will help out but they will do very little once the numbers reach upwards 200 (unless you have an absurd amount of turrets)

Your bread and butter will be traps, create a few open entrance points and simply fill them with traps. I have 90 traps in the smallest trap area .... around 500 traps in total, have 4 entrance points.

For flyers you will need a few turrets and fight in a place where you can retreat indoors.

Turrets. Don't even bother with manual combat. Build a few defensive positions and hook them up to motion sensors. Your electrical stuff only breaks down when powered up so if it's only powered up during actual combat then they rarely need repairs. Pretty cheap to build and easy to maintain.

Build them on a raised foundation so they can shoot over your defensive wall and ring your wall with a couple of rows of wooden fences too, Traps etc. Very easy to keep things away from your turrets while they do their thing.

If you put the game level to 'Easy' it allows for a more relaxed gameplay without the constant attacks.

It may also be the best option for now until we get some patches or updates.

As Rowdy wrote, for a more relaxed experience play on easy, its pretty much the same except that you don´t get annoyed all the time.

Just finished a hard game with only 4 settlers the first 5 years, very doable but in the end it just got annoying. Huge bug attacks is good for business though, you wont get that on easy.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't want to play on Easy as I like the thrill of dealing with the bug attacks, but on Medium they are so frequent it's crazy.

2 of my settlers are pretty much full time of crafting clothes that wear out so quickly, 1 is full time on cooking, so that leaves 2 to do pretty much everything else, including research.

I will alter some settings to get them to finish off turrets ASAP.

lol, I don't get turrets til roughly year 4/5. Just started building my wall fall year 4. Y'all act like this is hard. And yes, I'm on medium, as that is by default normal. Don't like easy, don't like hard.

You still get bug attacks on easy, just not so often.

Yeah, I should pay attention. Thanks.

When you get 15+ scissorhands knocking on your doors turrets won´t do much, you better cover yourself with triple fences so retreating is possible and have a couple of snipers for heavy damage.
