So clearing the nests doesn't do anything?
Anyone else getting a google popup when opening steam?

Anyhow.. killed all the nests around me and i'm still getting 100+ zerging me. I figured clearing them out would reduce the attacks. Since they now have nowhere to spawn.

It doesn't do nothing, exactly. You can observe the nest formations and then mine them for nanotubes.

You can't decrease the attacks, it is perpetually increasing to wipe your game intentionally.

The goal of the game is to get your survivors off the planet, not to colonize the region.

The goal of getting them off is impossible.. so basically play until you get bored and restart then. I got 3 off from 6 before and then like 150 critters attacked me and my guns were down.. and no amount of kiting can deal with that for the 100+ flying insects.. although you can sit in your house until they go away.

Unbelievable.. one peep got injured and decided to "flee" he then "ran" at a snails pace had to be rescued, got him back to the base and outside the base decides he wants to limp home.. so he died.. it's a stupid mechanic.

Fitting end to a crap playthrough, from the get go one of my 4 got hit by lightning twice in a row.. essentially removing her from the game. Then I got a 5th who didn't like going outside..

the attack mobs don't come from nests. But as someone else pointed out, they have another purpose.

You can get them off, i managed to get 6 off, but it takes planning for sure, and plenty of TRAPS to help you. it can be done

Or you can, you know, play how you want. The game doesn't force you off the planet.

...I mean, the game does sort of force you off the planet... Those waves keep getting larger and larger for a reason.

And yea, I don't know why its 'impossible' to get them off the planet... I've done so twice, this time around I'm just faffing about seeing how long I can hold of the waves. But it's possible, easily so honestly if you plan ahead.

7 years.. wow. Well well done. Someone can give you a medal that your rng map let you win, my rng maps don't. They screw me over continually.

How many survivors did you have? And what year did you start using the Orbital to extract them? By end of year 3 I was already getting waves of 150+ critters and 80+ flies plus continual attacks from the livestock.

Only not all maps are the same. Maybe you got an easy map. But it certainly isn't easy.

If it was so easy as you say, how come only 15% of players have even managed to build the landing pad? Can't be that easy if 85% can't even get that far.

Because wiping nests does nothing, unless you are wanting to farm nanotubes, having all survivors escape just turns the game into a tower defense game. Because you have to build enough defenses that they kill ever increasing size and strength waves without the survivors help until you get that last signal. Feels like strength and size of attacks should be attached to nests and depending on how long the nest has been around, that determines the difficulty of the wave.

yes it leaves ugly ground behind and nope it's just there to be mined.
i am 100 % sure more us 50 % of the player dont will leave the planet the only will build or colonisize the planet
