Personally id prefer a mix. Procedural generation usually ends up being kind of meh. I'd prefer just some hand crafted maps with a random selection that it picks from everytime you start

Sorry for the late reply to this :) The map is pre-generated, but you'll crash land in a different, randomly chosen location whenever you start a new game.

The game files (lua) kind of mention something about a map editor when they've been decompiled and decrypted though, so hopefully this is a planned feature because it will also enable a longer life cycle for the game with modded maps.
