This Direct3D 10 renderer for Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Rune aims to provide a good, consistent looking and future proof renderer for these games. The focus is not on fancy effects; the idea is to have something that will allow these games to perform well and look good on modern systems, something which I can support and bugfix. Written from scratch, it ditches a lot of legacy stuff and profits from the fact that D3D10 support means a clear baseline. Furthermore, source code and documentation are provided (see page 2), which should aid future efforts to keep these games running.
Firstly, I'd like to thank Seven for bringing this (rather annoying) issue to light. For the past few weeks, I have been scouring the realm of Google, unable to find a solution to the problem(s) described above. This is the first time I've encountered individuals throwing decent attempts in carrying an aim to resolve the matters at hand. So yes, I too have been experiencing *very similar* issues - but mainly with the game Tactical Ops: Assault on Terror.
Now before one might "blam" me for speaking about another game, it should be noted that Tactical Ops: AoT uses the same Unreal engine that crafted UT99. On another note, I also tried installing UT99, and the same issues persist. Namely:
I guess the only differences would be that:
For an inside look at my computer, I'm running with:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 - 3.70 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660Ti (4 GB)
RAM: 16 GB RAM
I have tried all applicable methods described above, and my attempts have been futile. I'll retry installing Direct3D 10 once more if anything, but I guess I'll be going back on the hunt for a remedy.
Has anyone come up with anything since the last post, on February 10, 2015?
If I find anything worthy of note, I'll post it here. Thanks, all!
This is what worked for me!!!
I hope this helps you, Seven, and whomever else is having this issue!
If it does - GO GET THAT WHIFF OF NOSTALGIA!
So after almost a year, I can finally resolve this thread and ride off into the sunset of gibbed limbs and two cities.
Thanks so much to everyone who contributed and I wish any people in future the best of luck.
-Seven
