works on 7, 8.1 x64 just fine. Actually get better perf in this and other games on 8.1 than I did on 7 (same HW). Will be trying on Win10 in the coming weeks. I bet it runs fine there too. btw - I have the original CDs which I did try on 7 initially but have since activated it on Steam and d/l it on both 7 and 8 without issue in either case.

It works fine for me on Windows 7 (64bit). Better than when it I first played it on Win 98.

I use my old computer (bought in Aug. 2009) with Vista for games like these, works much better than my newgen high-end computer with W7. Certainly for Bethesda games it's awesome to have a older comp with Vista as reserve.

I get tons of slowdown on 8.1 x64 while choosing direct3d, so many settings who knows what is perfect combo...all I know slowdown in unreal kills the game totally.

As I tried some days ago;

1) Install multiplayer patches: http://www.oldunreal.com/utpatches.html

2) Get OpenGL renderer version 3.7 and replace the .dll file with the old one in "System" folder of the game: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

3) Set the game's video renderer into OpenGL. You are good to go.

Runs perfect for me on Win7, 8, and 10. All 64bit. The steam version is fully patched and ready to go.

Nope, Steam version is not fully patched; it is just the "Game of the Year" edition from 2000. Installing couple MP patches and using custom renderer is highly recommended.

Actualiiy the goty version is fully patched and 'ready' to go.

Dunno where you get that mp patch from but its definiatyl not needed. Get UTGLR only and edit the ini UnrealTournament.ini to fix it if the game runs too fast.

The old unreal patches are not patches made the devs. They do not include what should be te only fix needed.

No compatibilty mode required for Windows 7 64 bit systems. It just works perfectly on Windows 7.

Yeah, the idea is to use custom OpenGL renderer to overcome the speed issue. As I checked the "Patches" section of Beyond Unreal, "Oldunreal Multimedia Patches" are suggested before applying "Enhanced Renderers for Unreal Tournament".

Custom OpenGL renderer of UTGLR should work fine any way...
Okay, so the solution I figured out is thus:

I went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unreal Tournament\System

Then I ran testapp.exe and set render mode to "Software"..

Game runs flawlessly after that, no drivers necessary.

I am more over the fact that the oldunreal patch is based on 451b afaik(least the experimental one). You should not want that as that can break alot of mod support. 446(?)+ is mostly server sided fixes. 436 version works fine.

Hench I always advice just getting the utglr dll's. You dont want your game to constnatly crash.

Also, the oldunreal patches are from 2005 etxept for the experimental ones, then even then, just pasting and editing two lines in the unrealtournament ini file is just as much work.
