GOTY content
so i bought the game and i noticed that not all the goty content is there.

I played the goty edition wat back when when i had it on cd and it contained more maps and mutators such as the crossbows and the weapons of Chaos map and Weapons of war map.

Am i missing some content to download or am i just being stupid here and cant see the full content?

I think it's stupid that they don't include ChaosUT in the package. From what I recall, it came on the original GOTY disc.

You can find ChaosUT as a free download online though!

http://chaoticdreams.org/chaosut-download/

The link includes downloads for the main mod (V1.1), as well as two sets of map packs and (under Add-Ons), a download for the Chrek player model.

I think the only additional content to have made it from the disc to the Steam version is that of the Relics.

When you install the mods does it install into the steam game content by itself or do i need to manually put it into the files via zip?

There are some "self-installing" mods (though you still need to get a 3rd-party extractor) which fall under .umod or .u4mod or some odd extensions like that. But for the most part, yes, you'll need to extract manually.

Most files follow these guidelines:

.uax belongs to the Audio folder
.unr belongs to the Maps folder
.umx belongs to the Music folder
.u, .int, .ini, .dll, and a few others belong to the System folder
and .utx belongs to the Textures folder

However, some mods come neatly pre-packaged in their respective folders just for you!

Let me know if there's anything I didn't cover!

Yeah, I love ut99 but having the chaosut mods in the screens hots is false advertising which is against the steam rules. I hope they fix that :(

________

where do you get the 3rd party extractor from?

I have UMODExtractor20 if you want it. (Other tools aswell)
Also have the first 3 out of 4 bonus packs (4th might be somewhere on backup)
The GOTY edition mods where significantly outdated. It was jsut extra's after all. None of these mods are really played anymore at this point.

You do not need an third party extractor. What you need is an reg fix.

https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Unreal_Tournament#Can.27t_install_UMOD_files

Third party extractors often can cause GPF's (General Protection Faults)
