UT1999 Source port vs Quake III Source port
I am talking about 469 vs ioquake3, each of them fixes problems with your games like servers, setting stuff and other stuff but 469 is a patch but its like a source port because of the style

This 5-years old thread sums up the sad state of affairs vis-a-vis UT99 source code.

https://www.reddit.com/r/unrealtournament/comments/czkstp/what_happened_to_the_ut99_source_code/

Coincidentally, or rather not coincidentally, UT3X (UT4) build was finally cancelled silently by Epic Games.

https://www.pcgamer.com/fans-despair-about-putting-your-hope-in-epic-as-the-publisher-purges-all-mention-of-unreal-tournament-game-it-accidentally-announced-last-year/

TLDR: UT99 source code is with a single person as a stable version, but Epic Games is not interested in him releasing it officially, nor are they releasing the source code officially to the community, as they don't want to take the FPS gaming community spotlight away from their golden goose Fortnite. Planned sequel UT3X was silently cancelled.

As of now, UT99 latest patch is 469d (Dec 2023), and it's kinda built upon long-running community patch 227 (OldUnreal's patch), so these community patches, community master-servers (Epic has taken down their official master servers for the UT games, but kind people have kept community servers running so players can play online matches with their existing copies of the UT games, but the games themselves are delisted (not available for sale) on the digital storefronts) and community created mods & maps are still keeping this 25-year old game alive.

Our kudos and grateful thanks go to the worldwide UT community for their decades of efforts, patience and kindness!

As for Quake 3 Arena (Q3A), its source code was released in 2005 itself by id Software, and there's an open-source port of it publicly available, called Open Arena.

Q3A is also available in a free to play avatar, called Quake Champions, which is a hybrid game (based on id tech engine and Saber tech engine) that can be considered as a slightly enhanced version of Quake Live (revamped online-play-focused version of Q3A).
