Old school players?

Any old school players? Just remembering back in 2000-2003 when I played this hardcore online in clans. Zark Assault Rifle, competitions with some of the greatest players in the entire community worldwide, not sure how I ranked but it was pretty damn high, went 1on1 with one of the top 10 players worldwide and did pretty well. Figured i'd just see if anyone else still played from back then since i installed this again after many years. Found my old files with lots of old school mods and additions to the game.

Havent played online yet but looks like there were still 100+ servers people were hosting. Good to see after 16 years people still play this.

For new players I hope you enjoy the game and can get it working. Compatability issues can always be a big problem. ~ to bring up ingame console to use cheats, personally I love using "addbots 100" into a game. Or summoning creatures. Lots of resources out there and customizations.

UT GOTY has got to be my all time favourite game, especially CTF + Instagib = the best fun ever!

If you ever wanted to sharpen your skills, play 1vs1 against a bot on Godlike skill on UT GOTY, seriously difficult

Wow, just saw this game on steam... burst out laughing :-D

I used to be a succesfull D-Base programmer untill this came out, and because of this game (wouldn't be fair not to mention Tac-Ops also) I became the bum I am today..

Played this game from 2002-2006 and also played in the Zark community. Interestingly, I was also in {CZS} under the name M-B and was part of the 5v5 TDM team that went unbeaten in two seasons running on FraggedNation. I stopped playing Zark after seeing all the UT99 videos that were posted on Own-age and started playing NW for Z!T and oS^

I really do miss the says of sinking 8-10 hours a day in just to try and be as good as Sempy, Snakez, Bleh and Lauwef.

No other online game has held my attention like UT99 did back in the day.

56k Internet. The struggle was real back then and todays generation has no idea lol. Honestly I didn't even know much about the Dreamcast back then and certainly didn't know there was UT on it. Crazy. I just teamed up with my clan on PC for it.

UT99 was truly something unique and probably the 4th FPS I had played at the time. Previous to it was, in order...Duke Nukem 3D, Doom (1993) and Quake. Those are still the classics for me, I was very young back then and didn't really understand or grasp games very well. Wasn't until UT99 when I was 15 that I really began to game hardcore, understand gaming and FPS's well enough etc. The graphics are obviously nothing like today's games, but playing it again still makes me feel good to see it has such a uniqueness to it that no other game can compare.

My clan, [Ri] Raging Insanity, specialized on that map since it was played all the time on TheGamebox.Net public CTF server where most of the clan members hailed from. It gave us a little advantage on that map in clan matches since most clan players didn't get to play that map real often.

I played in [DK]deadkennedys we played on Jolt CTF ladders and clanbase, other members were [DK]Sini who also played for [PMT].[DK]Zenith, [DK]Outcast (rip man). I'm currently playing the alpha of UT4 which available free to download online, i recently bumped into an old {Levi} player, now those that know or were actually there playing with their hair on fire night after night in 1999 and 2000 will understand the smile i had on my face. I put a small clip on youtube.

UT99... my experience back in the time resumed... Facingworld, Instagib CTF and Strangelove mod.
I remember that the maps created where really creative, from the Bhop maps... to a map (can't remember the name) that was a house and you where like miniatures

Played this game alot in in 99 to 2001. All instagib CTF.

Playing on a dial up 56k modem with like 450 ping usually. Having to time your shots with a 1 second delay ways a pain but it kind of added to the game. I remember when the zero ping mod first came out, it was terrible but it improved alot by the time i stopped playing.

Playing with EsF, MACK and a few other clans. Was a lot of fun.

Played ALOT of iCTF, was in a couple of clans but [DMC] would be the one i was active in the longest. I even think we managed to climb to #1 in the iCTF ladder (Clanbase) at one point.
