Steam or GOG?
I heard this one has DRM, but the GOG version is a bit more expensive. If it has no DRM though I'll give in to the GOG.

Neither have DRM. Both are the same GOTY release. I have both in order to keep one running properly.

On the other hand, one thing Good Old Games has over Steam is you get an offline installer .EXE with every game you buy there, including Unreal Tournament, They've been doing that since their day one, for some years by now. Honestly, I don't know why Steam to this day has yet to do likewise.

Buy the GOG one, I recommend buying old games there as you never know what kind of DRM Steam put to prevent running it on older operating systems. You can add the game to the Steam library as a non-steam game. Just download the game without GOG Galaxy,
Doesnt really matter for older games on steam really unless developers make a special steam version for it.

It has DRM. Also, GOG games tend to come with the soundtrack, while Steam tends not to.
UT 99 does not have DRM. If you confuse starting game with steam is DRM with actual DRM that deals with stuff like piracy I can understand your point, but honestly you dont inh this case even.

If you're wondering why you can essentially just install the no delta patch (Officially released by EG) for this game and you wont require steam.

And UT99's goty didnt came with an official seperated soundtrack. I dont get the fuzz here? If anything you can convert umx files per usual.

No release of UT99 ever released a seperate soundtrack. Not even gog.

If you really want to look up some games, check out Red Faction (also no DRM), as well as rune classic (Special steam version) for example..

I was talking about old games, not UT99.
UT99 is not an old game?

released in 1999?

Again, Only games with a special steam edition will need steam to be running... lol
