Linux Install
Forced the Windows version to install via Steam Play (proton) on Manjaro Linux; was a flawless install.
Everything in-game was great except every now and again there were microbursts,
not lag like a 50 frame jump.
Will experiment later,see how vsync and old fashioned ini tweaks will go.

EDIT:Again this is forcing Steam Play to install the Windows (exe) not the Linux version (which is out there). Hope this makes things clear.

Linux version of the game was published by a different company. Steam does not include that version unfortniatly.

Let people know however so other linux users can take on that

Man, I just bought it (on sale) knowing it has linux support. I didn't realized it was a different company. Ugh this sucks. Where should I get the linux version?

Its a 20 year old game, Its gonna be very very hard to get a copy of the official linux version.

The gog version of Unreal Tournament GOTY does work on Play On Linux according to this:
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/supported_apps-1-0.html

I am not sure if the steam version does.

Are you playing higher "resolution" than it existed at the time? Probably the reason why you got the micro-burst????

I am on windows playing on 1080P so yes. I am not sure if Linux can handle the ini tweak properly
