General Protection Fault
When I attempt to launch this game using Direct3d I get a general protection fault that reads:
History: UD3DRenderDevice::Unlock <- UViewport::Unlock <- UWindowsViewport::Unlock <- UGameEngine::Draw <- UWindowsViewport::Repaint <- UWindowsClient::Tick <- ClientTick <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

If I launch it using Software Rendering instead I get the following error:
History: UWindowsViewport::ddSetMode <- UWindowsViewport::ResizeViewport <- USoftwareRenderDevice::SetRes <- USoftwareRenderDevice::Init <-
UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <-
UWindowsViewport::OpenWindows <- UGameEngine::Init <-
InitEngine

Additionally I get the same errors when attempting to launch Deus Ex:GOTY.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Specs:
GPU: GTX 980m
CPU: i5-4210h
RAM: 8GB
450GB SSD

I have the same thing please give advice
Installing the Unreal engine Direct3D 10 renderer from http://kentie.net/ should resolve the issue
For future renderers, not saying the d3d 10 renderer is bad, but effectly the renderer is just emulation for these games.

https://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/

Always try to use these first since they do not emulate as the game engine officially supports these.

Thanks for the correction. To be honest, I was just parroting a reply to the other post I had made regarding this topic.

the D3D9 renderer is pretty much flawless..

D3D10 has issues for me, also it is not as much compatible as DX9 is imo..

Go here http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/ for the best renderers for UT99. You can also find renderers for OpenGL, wich is pretty much best, but for me it stutters the game, so i went with d3d9

Dont forget to put the renderer in out ut ini file, the page explanes how.

Good shout on D3D9! Have just given it a go and seems to work nicely, unlike D3D10

Which is strange as D3D10 was working fine too, until I reinstalled Windows
