Archangels impossible? Guidance...
So, what exactly do I need to catch in order to beat the Archangels? I'm no good at this 'freedom of choice' thing, and this game isn't as dumb in logic or as happy to give something akin to a one hit kill like Pokémon games are.

Plus luck is fixed (Damage Roll always hits for 8 when starting the fight, even changing areas), so even the luck based nonsense won't save me.

Could use some guidance as to figure out what is mandatory to succeed! No, I'm not near endgame, but there's 2 new targets that I can't beat at all. Nothing I do works. Thinking I could get nudged in the right direction before either resorting to cheats, or legal cheats (turning the difficulty down from recommended, which betrays the point in both cases.)

You're going to have to be more specific. Each Archangel has a different strategy, and thus different counters. Even Random Starter shenanigans can be stopped cold by Poppetox.

Poppetox is one, and the Serpent God is the other at the moment.

Poppetox switches place with the dummy in the spotlight, so just target that. Do not use AoE attacks.

Still kind of kills me since I don't exactly have a 100% guide on what/what not to catch-

What is your team? Very few monsters are "bad"
Blitz Jul 16, 2023 @ 4:17pm
Poppetox does melee damage and Mourningstar does ranged, so monsters with defenses against those bosses would be good. Burning/leech/poison are % effects and always solid. Fusion gives a huge boost to survivability and you can full heal a fusion using Rewinds.

Resources aren't really an issue so always be willing to use items if needed.

Dmg debuffs (poison, burn, leech) will wear down archangels very effectively bc they do % damage.
Mourningstar can be annoying that early though, judgement can seriously damage even a fusion
Whats your team? Most of the early beasts you can get on the early areas remaster into pretty strong stuff actually

That's because there almost isn't such a thing. If something has lower stats and isn't Jellyton or Coaldron, it'll remaster into something better. A fully remastered starter and the remastered version of your partner's starter fused together should be enough to get you through the game anyway.

Bootleg Southpaw (Lightning)
Gumbaal (Starter 3rd Remaster)
Apocrowlypse
Velocirifle
Fountess
Robindam(Eugene)/1st Remaster(Kayleigh, can't remember name).

2 stars on average. Leveling is super difficult since remasters happened.)

Your team is good. Lightning Southpaw can do some work with Charge+Battery. Gumball is a solid defensive and ranged attacker. Apocrowlypse is fragile but fast so you can get in some poison. Fountess and Robindam are great ranged attackers. I'd suggest swapping velocirifle with dandylion/blossomaw. They are tanky and plant types get access to heals and leech so you can use Wall skills more often, so you keep your attackers alive easier.

My point was that the two monsters I mentioned have, for no logical reason, the stats and slots of a monster that can be remastered without actually having a remaster.

The AP issue was a bug that got fixed. Jellyton is still weaker on the stat side than remasters though.
