Getting the same. It does not launch on my steam deck either. I've done the same steps as you.

Have you checked your specs? Cassette Beasts is more intensive than it seems. It requires 8gb of RAM and 2gb of VRAM (which I think essentially means you need a 2gb graphics card).
I got the game without realising I lacked the specs and it couldn't run past a certain point.
If you lack the specs you can try upgrading your PC or refunding the game. Sorry if the solution to your problem is "PC building".

I am having the same issue, I just installed it, and it never worked, it happened a week ago too, I was going to play, and it never launched, and I said screw it, so I came back and the same thing, I think the Devs have to do something with it, to get to work correctly.

I have a really high end PC, and it should run great.

I've had the same issue, been waiting for a discount to try it but unable to launch it. So I had to refund it...
I do meet the specification requirement but still nothing: launches (blue button in steam), but then instantly closes. Not screen flickering, no black screen, juste instant closing.

Same issue. So weird. It ran just fine for me a week or two ago, and steam says that there haven't been any updates. :/
Unless... I updated my AMD GPU drivers. Did anyone else?

OKAY. i downgraded to the previous AMD update and NOW it launches so i guess that is the fix for now? hope it helps
