How do I trigger the boss fight in the mall?

I've just reached the abandoned mall and found the station for (what for me would be) the fourth Archangel boss fight. Magikrab tells me that this particular Archangel won't show itself until I have "encountered and experienced" an "emptiness inside".

Okay, so.... how do I do that? That's not very specific. Is there something I need to do in the mall? I notice there's an upper level, but how am I supposed to get up there?

It's tied to one of the companion quests. Need to go there with Meredith

When you go there it should pan the screen to where you need to go. You will have to find a way upstairs, but it shouldn't be too hard

To add to this, I got stuck at the mall, make sure you're not dashing past the doors in the upper area when you're finally there. I think I was dashing past a cutscene trigger and assumed the ghostly rogue fusion was actually where I needed to be ...

I'm afraid it is :sweat_smile: I've scoured the entire lower floor and I have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to get up to the higher floor. I must be missing something but I can't think what, I'm sure I've checked everywhere. Is there a specific ability you need to get up there? I know I don't have all of them yet.

Getting up to the second floor should be fairly easy if you've truly searched the whole thing, the problem is that there's a gap too wide for you to glide right before your objective. You'll need the Jumpkin or Averevoir abilities to get by that (the former going purely lateral along the wall).

I did not have the Jumpkin or Averevoir movement for this area. So yeah, if you scour the whole flower and activate the levers, you should be able to do this just fine.

The levers block and unblock some of the paths when you go through the center of the mall

Levers, as in, more than one? That must be what I'm missing, then. I've only been able to find one lever on the ground floor, the one on the right-hand side near the sparking wires. I'll do another sweep through tomorrow and see if I can find the other one(s?).

Yes, this got me stuck for a while too. The 2nd lever is in the room that has the wooden ledge, the lever specifically is on the 2nd floor of that room near the back which then activates the wooden elevator

Yes, this got me stuck for a while too. The 2nd lever is in the room that has the wooden ledge, the lever specifically is on the 2nd floor of that room near the back which then activates the wooden elevator

Problem is, he can't find the escalator that leads to the second floor in the first place. (Also good to know that I sequence-broke basically by accident).

Once you turns off the electric wires, you have to go through the door with purple arrow above (it's next to the fast travel point), then go to the out the door with the blue arrow, then go to the right where there's an escalator, then keep going through the 2nd floor until you see an "electric shack" store. go inside. There's a lever in the back of that room on the 2nd floor this turns on the wooden elevator.

I could have sworn I'd gone that way, but apparently not. Thanks for all the help, I've found the escalator now and I should be okay from here.
