Possible bug: unobtainable Khepri?

So I have received a rumor ingame about a creature called a Khepri, somewhere in a cave on wirral mountain.
After several hours of not finding any hint of it anywhere, I looked it up and apparently it's supposed to be in a treasure chest battle.

However, that particular treasure chest is already opened in my savefile and it did not contain a khepri (it isn't marked as 'seen' in the bestiary), and while the glass guy, the anime girl and the bird do appear as random encounters all over the world, the khepri does not appear to be included among those. Plus, the rumor entry is still in my quest log and still points towards that mt wirral cave.

Khepri is not a treasure chest battle. Thats the mimic. Check the wiki, those locations are accurate.
I'm pretty sure I found mine in the mountain caves, specifically the long left-to-right room, but I also found another in the post-game dungeon.

If the video you saw was Gym Leader Ed's, then yeah, that's not its location. Chest monsters are random.

Khepri is found as a rare partner to any wild monster in Mt Wirral Caves. It's not a 'legendary', it's just a rare spawn.

It's also found more commonly in a very end-game location (you need to get through the ranger board questline)

ive seen 3, only ever encountered it along with sparktan in the mountain caves, idk if it has better odds or if im getting RNGd

Ah alright thank you, I guess I didn't consider that source to just be straightup wrong.

Khepri is much more common later on, if you desire to grind for 100%

I won't spoil but there is an event when you get board level 3 I believe, or is it 4 ? And in that area the Khepri is a pretty common monster, if I remember well I met like 3 in a row.
