Move rarity

I'm curious about the specifics on move rarities and if there are ways to increase moves rarities or do I just need to get lucky and find them somewhere.

If I'm using the wrong terminology sorry but specifically how some moves have added benefits where others don't. Looked at the wiki and can't find anything on it but again could be using the wrong terminology.

I'm assuming you are talking about getting uncommon or rare versions of moves. Correct me if I am wrong with that assumption.

I don't know that there is a specific mention on percentage chances for the uncommon or rare versions of moves. At least, not that I have seen.

What I can say from experience is that there are two ways I have run into them.

• First is with bootleg cassettes. Monsters with the uncommon typings seem to frequently get the uncommon or rare versions of attacks.
  
• Second is the vending machine in the Ranger's Headquarters. There's random sticker packs you can buy and there's usually one or more stickers that are uncommon or rare.
