A few questions: Tiny dominoth and statues
I've had this quest for a long time and don't know what I'm looking for exactly. I can only find regular dominoth.

Also, sometimes I'll randomly see a statue out in the field that looks like my character. If I get close it disappears. What is that?

Edit: Third question. The ranger board says "Fused material to next level: 0" but also says "Found: 75/15". Is this a bug?

The Tiny Dominoth rumour relates to the station in that area. The rumour won't disappear until you've beaten the archangel in it.

The shadows that look like you are a bit of a mystery. Sometimes they'll attack you, with a team that mirrors your own. No idea what causes them to appear or what triggers them to attack. I've only seen them disappear myself.

Fused material to next level 0 means you need to finish a round of quests on the board, because you've got enough material to level up.

So the Tiny Dominoth rumour is a main quest objective. An NPC in the highlighted area will ask if you're looking for the tiny Dominoth and suggest it's related to "The train that passed underground recently" or something along those lines. I believe that there's a magnetic switch nearby to that NPC that you have to haul the magnetic cube in the northern portion of the cherry blossom area to and activate to reveal the station.

I haven't seen the statue you're talking about though! Sounds like an good mystery to solve.

The Ranger Board is post-game content so don't worry about that until you finish the main story and take on the remaining ranger captains. If you're already postgame then finish the quests on the board to advance its level.

edit: I see someone beat me to it before I could finish typing lmao

The 'black statue' you've seen that looks like you is a creature called Black Shuck.

Based off the real life legend of the same, It vanishes when you get near it but there's a 1% chance it will become hostile and pursue you if you get too close.

The Black Shuck, as mentioned by Fortuna, copies your team and has a permanent 'ghost' status effect on top of every monster on it's team being an Astral bootleg, so make sure you have some tapes with you that can attack ghostly enemies.

It's also worth pointing out that the Black Shuck can drop a really good tape upon it's defeat that guarantees a successful recording of a monster, so defeating it is worth the trouble.

It not only guarantees the capture, it also transforms the monster into an Astral bootleg. If it weren't so damned rare, this would be a great help for one achievement in particular.
