Your asking about the design? I kinda like Fountess and Thwackalope too.
There are more great designs.
Only way he doesn't auto-win every fight is if he's taken out before he can attack, which is possible since he's very low speed and melee defense, and low hp. However my companion starts with guard so the enemy can't directly target him for 3 turns, he can only be hit by abilities that hit a whole team.
I also gave him headshot (200 ranged attack power) in case I merge him and the companion the ability to buff an attack into a crit. Which means in fusion he can literally one-shot anything with that ability, since thats around 5,400 damage.
It doesn't hurt that he also looks cool.
Blossmaw would switch between leach, doc leaf, and new leaf to slowly drain enemies while keeping my party's healthy.
Ramtasm was another support with nurse, elemental (astral) wall and then smack them around when they would inevitably go berserk (Breathing tech helped reduce that from happening)
Kuneko paired with someone who can make an enemy glass type and then resonate them. I think I took out like 3-4 bosses with that.
In terms of power it's pretty well got to be Miss Mimic because of the sheer madness that is echolocation + custom starter + sharpen + pre-emptive strike stacking the rest of the slots. Metal type and 210 melee attack means pretty much nothing short of a decently levelled archangel survives for turn 1 to actually take place.
If it does survive then just swap into Kingrave, Ripterra or another Miss Mimic with more pre-emptive strike stacking and some random/custom starter nonsense (something like woodcutter +1 hits).
This doesn't work if you want to record stuff and it fails hard against that Poppetox archangel who creates dummies that inflict the damage on you instead, but everything else just melts in a huge display of overkill.
