Kid safe?
Wondering if there is anything inappropriate for kids? My kid really wants it? Thanks!

It's quite kid friendly. There is a "romance" option for certain characters, but it is limited to "maybe this could be a date?" and then a heart appears.

Thanks a bunch!

There are a few horror type things, so if the kids don't like that kind of thing, that's to note. No outright nasty horror things but a couple of "this is creepy and I do not like it" type stuff. I hate horror and had a couple of moments where the creepiness was unnerving.

From what I've seen so far, I'd be cautious with kids the age pokemon is aimed at (5-8; the original pokemon games were designed to promote literacy), but it's got the sort of VHS creepy stuff perfectly suited to 12+. Exception of course being kids who don't handle creepy well, but you probably know if yours qualify already.

Agreed with the above. This game is pretty much 12+ because of the light horror elements.

There are some morbid themes like the concept of death, but nothing too major. Every other aspect of the game is kid-friendly and the artwork is fun.

If I'm not mistaken the lyrics of the town music has the line "We're all in the same ♥♥♥♥", if thats the sort of thing that would concern you

It's "We're all in the same ship".

Ok that makes way more sense lol, thought it was very strange to have a single swaer in the whole game

Just to add to this, the "horror" in this game is still pretty tame. If you're familiar with stuff like the Ghost types and Lavender town in the Pokémon games, it's pretty much that. You're not playing Amnesia here. :cgrazz:

OK, I'm genuinely curious on how you misheard this. I mean, "we're all in the same ship/boat together" is a pretty common expression of "we're all stuck in the same situation". :conwayheadscratch:

idk man the end of the word is rather quiet and my brain incorrectly filled in the blank, thats what they do best. Psychoanalyze all you want I guess

Agree with the "horror" comments here, but I'd say it's about as tame as the darker themes of Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. It's nuanced enough that younger kids might miss it entirely, leaving only vaguely creepy imagery, but even that's extremely sparse.

The Archangels may not be exactly child friendly. The Death one especially

The Archangels are pretty creepy, so use your own judgement about if you think your kids can handle that, but nothing is overtly child-unfriendly. There is a scene where a character dies, but it's literally just, they get enveloped in a beam of light and then there's a splat on the ground where they had been standing, not exactly graphic.

The more common version of the phrase, at least where I am, is the "same boat" version, so its really quite an easy mistake to make if you've never heard that version of the phrase.

Ooooorrrr you could be completely oblivious and totally miss all the obvious 'ship' metaphors and references all over Harbourtown until its pointed out to you when reading forum comments. That's definitely not me though, couldn't be.

I played through the whole game and never saw that scene. Though there was the barkly scene where you find his original owner was killed and eaten by a creature leaving only bones behind that you bury.
