What counts as a cave?

For the new random guy? Just so I don't missunderstand something, please clarify again what I need to do.
I mean the legendary one and I fear there might be some weird rules like the whole mall being counted.

So, first you go to the specific new cave he starts in. That encounter is scripted to make it impossible to fight it there. Then it shows up the same way as the other "legendary" monsters (and fusions). If you've ever had those pop up in a cave, the spot will be the same although you'll probably have to Bulletino Dash into him to make it before he digs away.

That should mean he is one of those uhhmmm...radar encounters or what those are that are shown on the map? Well I guess I can figure it out easier now.

If you are looking for a Picksie, try talking to various people in town - sometimes they mention a rumor about "a skittish little goblin" spotted somewhere, which triggers a temporary quest (valid for 12 minutes i think). When you go to the location of this quest, you will find the Picksie (with pickaxe in hand and colorful gemstones on the body), which quickly buries underground when spotting you - so you will have to dash towards it very quick (as HeraldOfOpera mentioned, basically ram into it with Buletino Dash).

But other than that, there are no special rules - encounter it once in the cave (location:)near the Graveyard, a bit to the north-west, then it just randomly spawns around the island.

One thing to keep in mind is it is VERY hard to actually record, similar to the other legendary monsters. I had to get the Optical Laser Tape, since regular tapes went to about 5% chance and Chrome tapes about 20% (and kept failing, 10 times in a row or so).

Maybe I'm impatient and I did that event already a while ago, but I don't see the hint for it even if it was roughly an hour or two searching so far with yesterday.

Oh okay, now I saw it and well I used the tipp, because I really didn't wanted to try it agian.
