Hope this helps :)
and i get it that BGM is "supposed" to repeat, but that's also why i agree with OP, that lyrics don't belong in a song that is designed to repeat and loop endlessly in the background.
edit : trying the demo now and yeah, the lyrics. . at least, it shouldn't be playing when there is dialogue on screen to read. there seems to be quite a bit of reading in this game and having lyrics in the music when you're trying to read a book and someone is talking in your ear constantly.
I was trying to focus on what the characters are telling me and reading about the elemental types and weaknesses, but the lyrics are so insistent.
it's really not so much the lyrics themselves, but that the voice is kinda loud and pushes it to the top of my "attention priority". which is why i say it's "insistent", like it's trying to force me to pay attention to it.
a solution might be to have the music stop during dialogue, or just play a version without lyrics durinc cutscenes
wow, you like taking leaps of logic don't you.
like, why the frig would i make the effort to acquire FES and play through the journey with max social links, 100% persona compendium AND play through the answer if i was not a "fan".
side note. .. i'm actually not a "Fan", but i did acquire the ps2 version of P3 and P4 and i'm literally playing P4 right now.
normally, i don't go for visual novel type games, but i just kinda got sucked in.
too bad the PC versions have Denuvo
it's a really catchy theme, and there's a singer singing lyric like "i never felt like da da da da. . i never felt like da da da da" and my issue with it is that it just kinda loops like that which then creates an earworm (when the song gets stuck in your head)
maybe it's a bad example, because what i'm actually criticizing here in this game is that the voice in the song is too loud and it was playing during a cutscene, while i was trying to read and concentrate on what the people saying..
persona has a lot of voice acting in it and that would also be super distracting if you are in a cutscene with the characters talking about shadows and death and whatnot and there's a voice constantly going "i never felt like da da da da. . ." in your ear.
but Atlus actually did it right in that the lyric music doesn't play during cutscenes.
another example could be the persona 4 battle music, of a way it's done right, that has lyrics and it's actually a complete song, where the lyrics have clear beginning and an end, but most importantly, it only plays during the random battles, where there are no important plot points to be made or lore dumps to read
TLDR : i'm not suggesting that the dev remove the song, just that they don't make it play during a cutscene, when characters are talking.
Not sure if you already figured it out, but you can turn off vocals by going to settings > audio > music vocals.
Thank you!
Thank you, Karen. That sounds like it should make everyone happy.
I play guilty gear... A 2d fighting game with hard rock, metal, and pop music blaring and I love it.
