Game boots without any audio. I turned the audio up to 1, and I can still hear other games and computer things just fine. Any help?

When I run Mini Maker, I just get to the first screen and nothing responds to my mouse or key input. I have to close the program from alt-tabbing to steam or I guess Program Manager would work also. Any Ideas on how to get past this so I can play with the game?...
