SPECIAL Follower being gone due to Ressurection Ritual softlock when they died from illness..
title. it was The One Who Waits so this is really important to me for you guys to fix. I already reported it to the google forms but I will copy and paste again what happened:

the one who waits died in my cult from sickness, and I now read up the google doc of known bugs and it said "if you try to resurrect someone who died while sick, you get stuck on the ritual" which was what happened right before I came here to report it.

however, my not-smart *** decided to SAVE while on the softlocked ritual screen, because I'm just used to saving when things go wrong, quitting and reloading the game, and it has worked wonders for invisible unharvest-able crops that I can't plant any other seeds on (different bug where sometimes the game fails at loading these crops and you can't harvest nor plant the seeds for these tiles even after harvest ritual)

now I'm in a state where the one who waits isn't alive in my cult, not in the followers list, but opening the resurrection menu and trying to see the list also fails to show them. the one who waits is simply lost and I can't find them. However upon cancelling out of the resurrection menu, the resurrection animation / sound effects play, and it softlocked again right before the one who waits pops up from the floor (it looks more like an empty summoning circle with bubble sounds in the background) :lunar2019shockedpig:


But even worse! after the update today, the game stops softlocking upon me selecting the Ressurection ritual and cancelling out of it. This is worse because at least during the previous moment of it constantly softlocking, I know 100% the game remembers I wanted to resurrect The one who waits and re-tries to do it every time. Now the game seems like it doesn't care anymore? I could send a video of the current state of my game if you guys need it but honestly being able to send a save file for you guys to fix would be nice..

I have the same issue. I've permanently lost three followers like this.

Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one with this issue. But I thought it was cuz of the rags or something damn..

yeah the issue is well known for sure but idk if their fix will bring back these specific followers that disappeared from both lists X_X

Same issue here, the one who waits died due to sickness while being in a dungeon. Trying to resurrect him froze the ritual. I saved and exited the game and now he is completely gone :C

Here are my logs, in case this is any help to pin the issue down. Sadly i restarted the game a few times after the issue occured, I don't think those logs actually include the error occurring.

thanks for the bump and codedigging(?)

I'll just wait patiently because I know this game basically got too big too quickly for an indie so they're 100% busy. maybe this is low priority compared to people not getting heretic hearts

I used to want to bump this thread like once every 2 days but at this point I'll just accept that I won't play this game for now

Aaah so this is a known issue that when a follower dies from sickness while you are gone and you try to resurrect them, the ritual (and all other rituals after that if you end up saving while resurrection ritual is soft-locked) softlocks. Glad to know I am not the only one with this issue. For me it was just a random early follower but yeah, all my rituals are now softlocked. 17 hours of gameplay down the drain, OOFH. Hope this gets fixed soon.

ah ♥♥♥♥ I saved while in the ritual of getting back a sick follower :< is there any way of getting the save back now or am I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥?? bc. I don't want to lose this save
edit - reloaded the game and it seemed to fix it? managed to resurrect a different follower at any rate though the one who'd been sick is still gone :<

well I'm somewhat happy for you but still, I'm missing THE special followernot just any rando, so I really need them to fix this. I am a bit too lazy to bother trying to even boot up the game and see the ritual screen again if no patch notes mention about this, because I assume they're having a tough time fixing other, apparently, "more crucial" bugs.
