Couple this with level three demon summoning -- and including a high spirit bomb, melee and arrow. And you should be able to melt before damage and running out of fevour.
Golden fleece for x3 (+200%) damage is also good boost but half priced spells at double damage has higher chances i think.
It all depends on what curses you get though.
Personally, the Golden Fleece worked better for me. You're not supposed to take any hits during the boss fight anyways. It doesn't matter if I recieve double damage or lose my benefits upon getting hit, I was not allowed to get hit, ever, for the duration of the fight.
For the Squid one, when he spams a lot of projectiles your way, just run around in a circle, don't try to dodge all of these individually because you will likely hit them. For when he charges at you, you just have to time your dodge REALLY well or have invincibility curse.
Similar story for the Spider, they are fast, but depending on difficulty, it is possible to do a Dark Souls'esque dodge roll right through their attack without taking damage, as you cannot be hit during your dodge for a bit but exact inv-time is based on difficulty.
Personally, I just did it on normal difficulty like the rest of the game, Golden Fleece, and started the fight as soon as I could without trying to farm for more cards. I was also fully maxed out with all my gear as well. The rest just boils down to trying not to get overwhelmed by the many enemies on your screen. Sometimes I would kill them, but it's a risk. Every enemy you fight is a risk that you might get hit, deal no damage to the boss and might get overwhelmed by the boss when they get over to you.
If you get the good tarot cards and spell, you can almost one shot the boss right when it spawns. The green fleece makes your spell extremely powerful. The spell that cast autoguided magic missiles can be chained. The boss will get hit with dozens of potent missiles in a few seconds : perfect game.
You can also do that with the Golden fleece, but I find it harder since a single hit in the boss level and it's lost forever.
- move to easy
- put the cloak on that gives you extra strength for curses
- get hounds of fate. you get do the escape in the first room until you get them. bosses will die without having chance to go off he screen
Not gonna lie. I switched to glass fleece (curse damage) and used invincibility. This fleece works great with a godly sword. I attached a video link to show how easy it is.
I made a guide based on the comments here. This might help you out for referencing.
