I've read somewhere that the next big update should happen this summer.
one anomalous tipper guy said Palworld was the delay for a reason because due of the game coming out on July 1st, they had a gaming company caught the attention to put the dev's game into consoles which they aren't sure they made it to xbox but he said they made it into nintendo company for they wanted Palworld into their addition.
Thus this put my guess and theories for I will quote my recently spoke to another person
1. the dev are in rush finish Palworld
2. their team is small for full focus is on palworld
3. rough timing which tight scheduled
4. all the above of 1-3
Thus, I cannot blame the dev but the contract paper from gaming company. *sigh* Our poor dev going have things rough tonight, just don't die dev.
None of this is true, the only thing remotely true on this entire thread is they use Discord more often to do announcements.
The team published some xbox updates. OP failed to do apply some due diligence and thorough research. Simple discord click and selecting the announcements channel would show the information posted below. Considering the team is working on the seamless map update, why update the game with new content when the map system will be changing? Its a big deal to completely change how the map is done.
-Source of the latest updates - Discord Craftopia announcements channel. Tip: Its the first channel...kinda hard to miss :)

Thank you for playing the Xbox version of Craftopia.
We've just released the hotfix patch for the Xbox version of Craftopia at 19:00 JST on Mar. 9th today.
Here's the list of changes:
• Fixed the bug that Dark Anubis didn't spawn in the hell.
We've been reported other bugs since the last update on Feb. 25th, and we're working on them to fix them.
• The game cannot be played correctly on some islands.
We're investigating and testing other cases as well.
We're terribly sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced in the Xbox version of Craftopia.
Thank you for your patience and your continued support.

The latest version has been uploaded to alpha-unstable.
Version: 20220419.1500
Important bug fixes and improvements
- The island and dungeon were in the process of being adjusted, and were appearing, so we have fixed them so that new ones will not appear.
Entrances to dungeons that had already appeared have been temporarily removed.
New Content
- New "bass block" and "synthesizer block" were added to the sound block-based building materials.
Functional Improvements
- The maximum number of characters on a sign has been increased to 32 for English (one-byte characters) and 20 for Kanji characters only."
This game is on steam, this is where the communication should be taking place. not on a platform where the game isnt release on.
I/We shouldnt have to resort to installing extra software just to get updates when again, the site/platform the game is already released on have a forum section already dedication to forums, and giving status updates
Craftopia's not exclusively on steam or pc for that matter. When there is big news to share, they do so for multiple platforms in one easy to access location. When there's an xbox update they post it to the discord. When there's an update on the dev branches of the game which are a work in progress, they post that on discord. It's an official community server meant for communication between fellow players and the devs. Not the first or the last of it's kind by any means either. Almost all games, even fanmade, have discord communities these days so i don't get what the issue with using that platform is.
There is nothing to share since the last update though as the team is still working on the Seamless world update which is large scale and addresses many aspects of the game which will take time to figure out and finish. If you want to play the dev branch which receives updates first for testing, do so in your steam library. It's free and you can see portions of what they've been doing. Major changes to pets are already available in it not to mention the other things they've been adding like paintable surfaces, traps, musical note blocks/additions, and more. It's slow sure, but the main focus has for some time now been seamless world and the team already stated updates were going to slow down because of it....
Actually, I'm pretty sure the current delay is because the next major update's meant to be seamless transitions between worlds, and rewriting your worldgen/organisation system to accommodate that is something of a difficult task for a small indie team.
Palworld has its own team, and Craftopia's been getting regular releases even since its announcement - more regular than other active indie EA games I track. This isn't abandonware. Dark & Light is abandonware. This is just slow.
This is from someone w/ a discord. Ya only get like 10 percent of the players in most of those. I can get why ppl think its abandoned honestly. Getting super quiet after announcing palworld doesnt help.
Hello.
No, unfortunately this isn't correct.
There is an entirely separate team working on Palworld, none of whom were on the Craftopia team. No resources were moved from Craftopia's development over to Palworld either.
As mentioned by several users on the Steam forums, you can get in better touch with us over on Discord but in the meantime, another status update for Craftopia should be coming along shortly.
Thanks!
Sure. Feel free to poke.
The discord link is pinned to the Steam forum and we encourage you to join us there. Thanks!
