right click, it will throw a pokeball into the ground and spawn the hoverboard.
be careful because you cannot retrieve it

Some people are having issues with the vehicles right now with them falling through the world.

If this occurs, try placing a horizontal wooden wall down and then throwing the vehicle down on top of that with right click like you normally would then pick up your wall and be on your merry way.

Didn't have an issue putting it down, but it did de-spawn from the world at some point - not sure if that is expected behavior or not...

Vehicles are temporary anyway, you'd have lost it after a few mins of use regardless. For it to just disappear after a while all by itself without you using it though - that is not intended behaviour, no.

Equip it, right click to throw it, then walk up to it and press E.

Well luckily, 2 years later, it still doesn't work. Equipped it, threw it, it fell through the world and I've lost the mats for the vehicle.
