(xbox) can you maybe NOT spawn a request for gold when starting the game

I play single player I dont care about gold. it might make more sense to ask if you select multiplayer but not when just opening the game.

basically whenever I open the game it opens a full screen info on whether or not I wanna get XBL Gold or Gamepass Ultimate. something I would expect when going multiplayer but I am not even on the title screen at the point

I have console gamepass, but that doesnt have XBL Gold inside. and I dont see any reason for XBL gold as I dont multiplayer anyway, I can just choose no thanks and it works but it's just annoying.

Game Pass Ultimate is far better than both gold and game pass separate, though and more and more games will be released with an Xbox Live Gold requirement due to the games being designed as an online service. Plus, Games with Gold are yours to keep forever, unlike with Game Pass, where they are removed after a while (except Microsoft Game Studio's titles).

Ultimate is the way to go to be honest. It's cheaper than having both gold and regular game pass separately and right now i think you can upgrade for just $1 for a limited time. Add to that, you also get Game Pass for PC with Ultimate if memory serves me right and also the ability to stream games from anywhere on mobile phones and tablets as well as stream games from your PC without having to download them.

I think the Ultimate cost roughly $2-3 less than if you had Game Pass and Gold separately.

Not trying to sell it to you but just wanting to make you aware of the benefits and the why's regarding more and more games requiring Xbox Live Gold to play even those with Single Player.

games with gold are only a few, usually not games I care about, so doesnt matter, for Gamepass or Ultimate, I usually dont have gamepass and sometimes just use it as a way to get games 20% cheaper, like forza 4 ultimate edition costs 20€ less on Gamepass so I can play gamepass games for a month AND save 10€ after everything and even with normal priced games on 60 or 70€ you still save a few euros.

the game streaming and stuff isnt quite my thing, so no thanks, in general I almost never have ANY subscription on xbox (nor playstation for that matter, only nintendo online but sadly without it you are screwed regarding yuor saves, and nintendo online is just SO MUCH CHEAPER, honestly Kudos to Sony for allowing USB Backups and xbox for free cloud saves, and unlike on xbox I do use switch online benefits from time to time.)

also werent the free games with gold (unlike special deals with gold) only available while you are subbed anyway?

No. Games with gold are yours to keep forever. I've had downtime in my subs but the games were still available to me except the game pass titles for obvious reasons.

Well, if that's your preference that's all good. At the end of the day, no one can tell anyone what their preferences should be. I was merely making a suggestion based on my own experience with Game Pass Ultimate and the standard Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass. To me it became cheaper and gave me far more bonuses. I got more out of that one subscription than i got out of my 15 years subscription to World of Warcraft. It's like having an endless gaming library where you can just pick and choose what to download and play at no additional cost.

I don't think there's anything else to add here, really. Unless you get the game on Steam, or get the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you'll be getting that Xbox Live request every time you start the game. It's simply because there's an Online element to it.

well sure this game has online and multiplayer elements, but so does forza horizon 4, yet it doesnt spawn that on every launch.

regarding your WoW sub yeah compared to that GP Ultimate might be cheap but I am generally against subscriptions if I can help it and generally buy games outright, which is what I intend to do with this game too, but bringing such a nag in right at the start is just not cool.

do the things when multiplayer is selected but please not at the start.

also regarding XBL gold, it literally says: "an active XBL Gold or GP Ultimate sub is needed to play gamed redeemed through games with Gold"

The only games you get to keep forever with gold are non Xbox One games like 360 and OG Xbox games. The Xbox One gold games are tied to the sub and won't open if you don't have gold.
