Magic Shield is great but please decrease the visual obstruction
Just the title. Simple request. It's lovely spell effect but it's incredibly in the way when trying to see things around my character. Make it more transparent? Let us toggle persistent spell effects on/off? Something. Great little spell, would love to use it again some day.

or:
-adjust camera settings.
-use the mod that decreases it.
-get used to it. wasn't an issue with anyone till seamless released 2,5 years later...

Nah serously the spell is a really huge obstruction .... They really need to rework it ... Either change it for a ground effect (kind of aura around your feet) or really decrease the visibility by ALOT... The mod you are talking about isn't up to date and crash others players with you in multiplayer currently.

I adjusted my camera settings and it's still obnoxiously huge and overly bright for how much screen real estate it takes up.

If something built into the game needs a mod to fix, it's bad design. Hence the post here.

"Get used to it" is just a ♥♥♥♥ take. If a particular aspect of a game is unintentionally obstructive to vision, it should be pointed out. I don't care if it's been 2.5 years. If it's been this way for 2.5 years then it's been badly designed for 2.5 years.

The mods I'm using to lower the shield visual is working fine for me still. The mods I installed are:

BepInEx: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2830278057

Configuration Manager: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2998467397

Quality of Life: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2997540312

The above mods have been helping me keep the Magic shield from view with a nice little visual. the QoL mod is what has the shield and the others, from what I guess helps it work. Other than the new update bugging up my base these have worked with no crashes during game play, but it tends to act up/crash when you're exiting the game. This has had no real effect on my saved worlds on my side. Not sure about others who could end up having less RAM than what I'm using. 64 gigs in case someone needs to know.

the mod works beautifully once it's set up... but i tend to agree.. it shouldn't be required to solve a problem.

I appreciate it, thank you very much. I do hate to need a workaround for something so silly as a simple obstructive shield but I'll put this into play and see how it goes. Thanks again!

Sigh, just put it in the base game.

I do agree it should be in the base game, but when I have something that annoys me that can't be fixed in the base game, I go and see if there is a mod/mods for it.

To be fair, I barely see anyone talking about magic all that much in discord, on the forums, or when I look at bug reports people talk about. As far as the developers know(my speculation), the shield is fine and, either they don't know it's a problem or people don't talk about it enough so it's a low priority for them. The shield does get in the way every now and then for me. I've gotten used to it but, that's not exactly a solution to the problem.
