Fishing net

How the hell is this fishing net supposed to work ? Been trying to use it on several "school of fishes" without any success...

that's pretty much what I'm doing, but still have to see fishes get caught by it....

Don't confuse regular 'fishing spots' with schools. Schools will look like a much larger group of fish swimmin in a circle out in the ocean/water. I got the two confused, wasted hours trying to hit the fishing spot with my net... Found a school finally, used net on it, it procs. Game just doesn't tell you what the difference is between them :P

you place it into the world onto something
interact with it so a net is launched

if the net is centered on a school of fish in the deeper waters, you'll catch various amounts of items.

school of fish can spawn repeatedly around and sometimes very close to the epreevious location.

suggest fishing at different islands for different rewards.

yeah, that was the problem. I though those school of fishes where just the regular fishing spot, but I finally managed to find one and the net worked perfectly.
Been back to the game recently, trying to get up to date with all new stuff.

how do you MAKE a fishing net? I can't find it.

The net gun says it should be put on a boat--but the boat says I'll get the blueprint from using a net. Do I just stick the netgun on shoresome where?

I have never seen a 'school of fish' as described here. I just circled the empty island with a broad radius, continued out northward until I smacked into the map edge (losing my hoverboard in the process), and found absolutely nothing. I didn't see anything off the Island of Residence either, but I didn't go all the way around. The heck is going on here?

The only island I am sure of the location of the school of fishes is the empty island, it's far to the west of the island. But there's one in every type of island, just search around you'll stumble on one eventually.
