Storage issues...

Title says it all lol... Seriously though the storage system sucks. I'm one of those people who have to keep everything in a game, crafting materials, weapons, everything lol. so far I'm 44 hours in and have made 12 steal chests and a couple wooden ones to store poop in for making gun powder lol. Anyways gotten to the point where I built a couple of markets and started just selling a lot of my loot, cause it just starts getting ridiculous with how everything has a different type of name so when you go to store it, it has to take up a whole other slot in your steal chest, unlike your inventory where it can stack in one slot. If they implemented the same thing in storage chests I would happy with that. At the rate its going encountering new animals and creatures before long I'm gonna have a freaking island of steel chests lol. Haven't found the items yet for the alter of civilization to get the next storage chest, I hope to god the storage limit is at least 50 slots lmao. Haven't looked it up yet, so I'm sure I'll be in for a let down of 5 additional spaces... Just my thoughts so far on the storage system. I really do believe this game has great potential though.
It really feels like Zelda Breath of the wild, but with so much more like others have said in reviews. Can't wait for The main story quest and hopefully some side quests that aren't to repetitive, since I only play single player games now and it gets boring and lonely feeling when there's no npc's to talk to and pick different things to say to them lol. I really enjoyed Zelda BOTW, but felt the story was way too short and it left you wanting so much more for how huge the map was, if only it had crafting that was more than just cooking lol so this game was a great replacement for that.

Only hold on items that have at least a good purple enchant, then scrub the rest and only kepp one stack (100) of each. Also dont hold on stuff you can easily produce by yourself in great quantities...

About chests, the priority early game is to set-up an iron ingots automated factory, then a steel ingots one... mostly to be able to mass produce steel chests and monster prisms... I almost finished building my main base on my current save and 70% of the space is used for storages (aka chests).

Then I use some tricks to limit the space I use. Like never produce more ingots than what you need immediately, only keep the base minerals.
Also check what different materials are needed for... some are uterly useless.

Thank you, great advice. Wasn't too sure on what I should keep and sell. Haven't gotten too much in to the automated stuff, so that will be something to try today. I was trying so hard to just learn everything on my own without looking up stuff, but last night I had to say something about the storage, since I get a little crazy with wanting to keep everything I loot haha.

lol like I said haven't got the materials yet to unlock it. I don't think I'm strong enough yet to go to hell. I've been trying to complete each island 100% before I go there to have enough slates of growth to level up my health.

Sounds like a bug. Normally you get the "you can't do this right now" message pop-up when trying to pick up items with stuff inside.

Not everyone has the final tier unlocked. Until then Steel chests are best.

I have to second what BIT Bear said. I've tired to pick up chests with stuff in it and I can't. It must be a bug, you should post to the discussions so the dev's can see and hopefully fix.

I'd like to use the bigger chest but... till now everytime I reached the last age available my game bugged out and I had to restart... so I'll stick with the steel chest for now
