Dragon ported to respawn point after killing my character.
Yesterday, I was exploring a new island map with four different biomes, map level 8.
Shortly after I entered the volcano biome, a fire dragon flew towards me. It chased me over half of the map, and eventually killed me. 1st thing: Why the *beep* is a lvl 19 dragon spawning on a lvl 8 map?! and 2nd: Shortly after I respawned at the teleportation gate on the little island where I started, that stupid dragon suddenly appeared before me, killed me again and burned down the wall I built to seclude a little area.
What. The. Heck?!?
I love this game so far, but THIS is a big big fun killer.

agree, these Dragon are likeliy mini Boss'es and sucks most even with a helicopter they almost wont fly back with the huge aggro range they have, all i can recommend you to keep distance and they wont charge at you :/

Sounds like something that absolutely needs to be changed to me.

I remember the fear of the dragon when I first started playing.... I would just do your best to avoid his area, eventually you'll be killing him no problem :steamhappy:

I didn't even see that dragon until it was flying above me xD To be honest.. where's the point in spawning a level 19 mini boss (!) on an level 1 island map with mobs from about lv 8 to 11?
However, I'm looking forward to that big update today, bringing features like difficulty settings. I like to play this game to chill out a bit, for challenge I have games like Grim Dawn, Hades or Gunfire Reborn^^

until you got a good Bow that deals 50+ damage with 100++ Arrows and you're good at Headshoots he'll be no more threat also his attack patherns are hella easy to avoid if u know where you need to stay^^
like i just chased 5 dragons in a single run on the Vulcano.

Level does'nt mean much this Game,
i killed with my lvl 37 Char a level 100 Executioner :cubehappy:

just forgot to say the Dragons also have huge amount health points^^

I dealt around 85 to 90 dmg on that dragon with my gold bow and fire arrows. Two fireballs from that annoying thing killed me.
Biggest point to criticize is basically the fact that you can have dragons on early game maps.
Where's the f***n point in that?

i guess Dev's wanna give us Challange?? xD

What's the point in challenging a mostly fresh started player with copper or iron weapons and no real armor by being confronted with a dragon he can't beat? I'd say that's an issue in map randomizing / balancing and a significant risk of scaring people away from the game completely.

Imagine this happening.. in an early access build.... before everything is working correctly.

I'm aware it's not uncommon for a game in Early Access. Point is, I'm questioning the reason behind. My last post was just picking up the comment Chromyx made and questioning that theoretical reason.

The dragon always spawns in the same spot, on the same islands. It is very easy to avoid once you have seen it spawn once on that type of map, because it always spawns in the same spot.

As for the fight with the dragon, you can dodge roll all of its damage quite easily even without buffed stamina. So at lower levels the fight really just takes time. It took me about 5-10 minutes to kill the dragon the first time. I think I was lvl 17, and the dragon was lvl 19. I had gear without any enchantments and no bow, just a two handed sword.

If that is too tedious for you you can simply avoid the dragon by not getting in aggro range (they play boss music when you get in aggro range, and you can simply walk back and loose aggro) or you could even avoid the entire island (desert islands). But I don't recommend it because you can easily navigate 80% of the island without pulling aggro.

The reason the dragon needs to be on islands of a low level is because it is by far the fastest, easiest, and best way to get better gear. The iron ore the dragon drops is just way too good to not use it on every single build. And it also gives higher level characters a good way to farm the ore by one shotting low lvl dragons over and over.

So that's why dragons spawn in early game^^ Thanks for your answer :)

The last time I played, the dragon I encountered behaved "normal", so I suspected it being a bug. Thank you for answering :D
