"F*ck you if you don't have good internet"
I live in australia and we have notoriously bad internet, I pay 60~ dollars a month for internet and even playing alone i get lots of lag and i find it incredibly unfair that I paid 30+ dollars for an early access game that doesn't give me the option to play offline. Please don't do this to your fans, let us play offline. If this is an anti-piracy measure, know that pirates will always get around it and these measures will only ♥♥♥♥ over paying customers.

actually no, they can't get around that unless they somehow find out server-side code and set up their own private servers, nobody is gonna bother doing that
And ofc this Outlast game was made for MP only so bro u already saw it when you bought this game like cmon dont blame devs for nothing
Let me crack this down.. you bought an online game, well knowing you have bad internet and now, you are *suprised pikachu face and try to pin it on the game. You bought - well aware that it is online.. You are joke. Leave the discussions alone.
Also, you're on steam, everything less played than an hour, you can give back due to a certain timeframe - you could've done that. You pay 60,- for internet, so I think it might not be your connection, you might check if your pc matches the requirements. Also since you're in Australia, try to use asien servers instead, since they seem more stable in your area. Never juse w-lan. If you do, get a cable directly to your pc. But still, you knew it's online and that's what you got.
I mean the first two games are offline....

doesn't matter this game from the get go was made to be multiplayer. the op didn't do his due diligence and figure that out and as another post above said he could of refunded, its on him not the game studio.
I can play the game, i just suffer with constant lagging and ping spikes, meaning it's playable but only barely. You people are just so happy to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over by game companies it's hilarious because you don't see the problem now you're in a perfectly stable situation but the second this happens to you you'll be crying and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and whining, or you'll keep relentlessly and unquestioningly defending companies that would charge you each time you launch the game if they could. you would rather defend ridiculously anti-consumer business practices than admit, maybe this company that makes stuff i like might not have my best interests in mind.

And for the people telling me it's multiplayer so what did i expect?
not much more than 10 years ago, every game advertised as singleplayer (which outlast trials was, as well as multiplayer) was able to be played offline. Every single one.
and what about in 20 years? If no offline feature is implemented, this entire game will be unplayable. literally unplayable, you won't even get to see the menu screen, because nothing lasts forever, especially not costly servers. You really want this? You want this to be the norm and you want to make fun of people who want different?

Is that even if you go to Settings > Network and disable all Server Regions except for "Oceania (Sydney)"?

Before you go trashing Red Barrels for the choices they made and the fact they took the route of making this game multiplayer comparing to the previous Outlast games which were single player and had the option to play offline maybe watch this to get an idea that not every company out there is given funding and that maybe their an independent studio meaning they’re future depends on the sales of the game and being able to provide support and the difficulties they face when it comes to making decisions.

I’ll just leave this here as maybe it will open your eyes that perhaps not everyone is out to get consumers like you claim they are

Nobody laughs at you homie, its just the way how things are now, you have some points ngl but it is what it is, dont exaggerate things man, first its just a game, next thing is that its a fully multiplayer game without single (for now, atleast) but I guess thats how it was originally intended
mb u right and people with bad connection will support your opinion, cuz it rlly sucks when you playin with bad Internet
but its not a devs fault mostly when we are talkin about quality of some players connection
mb something is going on in the area that you live, can this be a reason of your bad connection?
