The game is perfectly playable solo.
When selecting a trial, just start it alone... there is not much to it, the grouping and inviting other players is completely optional. Select a trial and start it when you are happy with your selection. The trial's goals and needed actions will be suited to the number of players in the trial, so it will make everything a bit easier to be manageable for solo play.
Well the game was limited anyway, I'm max level and lots of people are max level, but once you do all the trials, really the only thing left to consistently play is Program X as all the other Programs are too easy. Program Omega is just Program X with different modifiers, one of them being super annoying.
They need to release content or the player base will drop, I did see on twitter that they are releasing two new Programs soon, but they have no release date for that. The game is fun asf, I hope Red Barrels just is proactive in developing it.
Drop one trial and a week later you're right back where you were. This probably would have worked best if they had waited to release the finished product, instead of EA.
That said, an awesome game, just not with much longevity. Fine for a single player game, but not ideal for a multiplayer game where you need to keep current players to attract new players.
