How release tokens should work.
Me and a friend talked about this while playing, we are both long time players but also take into account new players while discussing how the new system isnt as good as it could be design wise.

first of all I think the new system is acceptable. its alright. BUT, this system has the major flaw of discouraging players from improving. or learning the game.

there is little to no reason to do program X or Ultra, the money rewards arent remotely high enough to warrant the difficulty change from genesis, and the posters are 1 time rewards.

how do I think this can be improved.
well first of all I think genesis > X > Ultra should have ascending token amounts.

genesis = 1 token per trial
X = 2 tokens per trial
Ultra = 3 tokens per trial.

or a similar amount range depending on if its main trials or mk trials. but you get the point.

Secondly. I think they should make genesis a ONE TIME rebirth. meaning you only get to earn rebirth tokens from it a single time to unlock X. you would get an easy rebirth trial to do, with one of the two short endings

from this point X and ultra should be the only trials that give rebirth tokens. and a harder rebirth trial with the 3rd (onward) endings unlocked for people who can beat the harder rebirth trial.

the amounts can be like:

X= 1-2 tokens per trial
Ultra = 2-3 tokens per trial

event tokens can all be 1 token per trial to encourage vets to play it but not reward the player too much unlike X/ultra.

I genuinely think this would be a better system to not only reward skilled players but ease new players into the system without making them felt left out of the rebirth grind. they would be given fair treatment up until they get past their first rebirth, of which they have left the "tutorial" and the real game begins from X onward.

I've been begging for this from red barrels since 1.0 dropped, they ruined so many aspects of the reborning system and now it feels like a sabo grind everytime.

Don't mind the new system awfully much, but I do think that it commits the greatest horror game design sin: the player never has to leave their comfort zone

nothing I mentioned here removes enjoyment, it only adds motivation to improve. one does not have it easier or harder, nor is anything limited to you aside from legendary outfits of which you will have to play outside of the tutorial to earn.

aside this makes the game more enjoyable for veterans who want more reward for challenge instead of having ultra difficulty being treated like the tutorial heist in terms of reward which makes it practically pointless to do on repeat.
