With Jammer Rig:
- The cooldown is very short (1 minute)
- I don't need to take the resurrect perk or syringe, because it can revive me or another teammate.
- It can not only disable enemy traps, but turn them into friendly ones, plus the setup time is much faster than with a Blind Ring. And it works on all traps. It also disables the door scanner, so there is no need to throw anything at it (and waste throwables).
- It can break padlocks, so there is no need for lockpicks or lockpicking skills/amp/perk, or rocks to break locks.
- Many converted traps can be active at once, compared to Blind Rig which can only have 1 active at a time.
- Jammer Rig has the features of all the other Rigs and works like an all-in-one Rig, but overall does everything better.
The job of Stun Rig (stun enemy + destroy trap) is partially made redundant with Jammer Rig + Strong Arm perk, and Stun Rig has long cooldown and doesn't convert traps.
Blind Rig has long setup time and only 1 trap limit, while Jammer Rig can have many converted traps active at once.
X-Ray reveals traps but doesn't do anything to them, while Jammer Rig converts traps.
Heal Rig doesn't revive, but Jammer Rig does, and also to another teammate.
Barricade Rig requires specific barricade points, while Jammer Rig can convert all types of traps wherever they are..
The only negative thing about Jammer Rig is the long time it takes to corrupt enemies, but since I don't use it for this purpose (I take Strong Arm perk plus keep at least 3 Bricks/Bottles in inventory for fighting enemies), it doesn't really matter to me.
didnt they nerf strong arm? your argument is so selective. you're not gonna blind trap to certain maps. and if your arguement rez, how are you dieing so much to need rez?
your literally take one thing out of rig and say jammer is better in that one aspect rather than the other things the rigs do. are u camping traps so the enemy can go in them. you could be half way across the missions.
i can do it it too. ohh blind rig is worse cuz i have to keep running. that makes stun better. wow stun rig dont work good for this generator, blind rig is better. jammer rig i never get hit in missions, other rigs are better.
If have amp short circuit and use battery it recused rig cool time also from that 1 minute i havent tested how much and how good that is for like farewell mansion level
You're telling me I could have thrown stuff at the camera doors this whole time ?! Thanks really, in like 700h I never knew you could. That's gonna be so helpful. Also I agree with the utility of this new rig.
We had bad, players with max 70 lvl. We were not getting green vouchers and we could not be able to buy the new rig. I missed 1 daily tasks because of this. And I had to play a lot to get the level 71. This is a bad decision of developers, if they had in mind new rig, they should give it for free to the players with max level or let to accumulate the vouchers without adding the level or give us the vouchers after the first trial we did. it was frustrating.
Currently Stun needs a nerf and lower tier rigs a buff if they wanna recenter the balance and make everything feel like they have a decent use anymore, at least imo. If I use jammer I just tell myself "well, aside from lockpicks which i get well... lockpicks for, stun does everything better"
I also think its the best for dealing with traps, super low cooldown on it and you get to reverse the trap. True though that Stun is comparable
Then again I'll be honest, I usually run through trials. If you play slower and safer its a great tool, and very fun, and doesnt lacks TOO much.
It's a thing I find that really easily could be fixed by again middling the balance and also making rigs faster to use. A lot of players who have played the game a few hundred hours will start just enjoying speeding the trials more, due to knowing objectives and points of interest.
But rigs like jammer, barricade, blind that take time to interact will be less used especially when again, well stun is just instant.
Blind is still fairly used in some maps because of objective delay (like a player putting a blind mine at the gooseberry spawn at the end of grind the bad apples while another pushes, nothing else to be done during that time so it's not an issue)
But having to wait a few seconds while using the jammer on something, dropping a barricade, and such can be a huge pushback personally just because of the slowdown it is, that could be just spent running towards the next objective after throwing my stun to buy time, distance, and also recover stamina (which indirectly makes objectives faster)
Its very true that it has a lot of niche uses though, and can be very fun, especially because of the learning curve in a way (at least I find personally), but sadly i feel like once you reach the tip of the learning curve its just "eh its cool.. but could be better"
I'm just stating from a power tier view btw, its still a very viable and fun option like all rigs can be in their strengths, even X-Ray can be really useful like seeing keys directly through bodies for example. On the new trial its pretty cool.
In the end people should run what they like anyway because its not like rigs are mandatory to do anything in the game, you can very well run psychosurgery with no rig and amps. They are just tools to make your life easier and faster, so using whatever you fancy is probably the most fun way to go anyway.
But on a strength side sadly, yeah..
