The Outlast Trials

My Personal review of under Surveliance
Aesthetic: A
I love the idea of someone actively trying to help us escape, and more importantly Murkoff spying and threatening anyone who gets ideas about the mere idea of doing so. The collection of schematics and tuning for radio broadcasts are all spectacular. There is however one issue that holds this back from A+ and that is simply the fact the radio messages during the train ride are pretty lackluster and feel more or less like Amelia is telling you to be a piece of ♥♥♥♥ and get abused to escape. Not exactly "inspiring" but its something at least.
Items: A-
The whole prison break vibe of the set as well as the first batch of clothing is actually pretty good barring the bad shirt. But the latter batch just boils down to slightly uglier versions of the actual first set. Pretty good items, especially regarding the whole prison themed cell that just adds a layer of flavor to the whole concept of the event that wouldn't be present otherwise.

Actual gameplay: C+
This would honestly be a failure if the cameras weren't pretty fun to avoid and the challenge of finding the TV was pretty enjoyable as well as hearing Amelias messages and didn't impact trials massively as say Toxic Shock did. The cameras however in 90% of cases are either gonna be destroyed on sight from a brick throw or be a pain in the ass as the damage they deal while fair can stack up to pretty frustrating amounts. Its not bad but not enough to boost this up any higher.

Quests: F
Not much to say here other then that 80% of the quest were "use this rig a certain amount of times" or do some other obscene thing that frankly was boring such as the crouch walk. The 15 schematics you need to collect turn the game into a wild goose chase just as much as the rat race from toxic shock which goes without saying, isnt fun and especially when your likely to only find 2-3 total, meaning everyone festers to it like... anyway. The worst quest is probably the graffiti simply for being too easy and impossible to make hard to begin with.

Overall: B+
Not bad, definitely worth finally coming back to good ol' Outlast Trials. While not a real big game-play spectacle and frankly somehow manages to be boring, more then Prime Time because there isn't any first time excitement like we had there. This was more an update for lore hunters who want to find out more and have some new things to dive into for this game. In that goal they largely succeeded. At least it wasn't Countdown.

Might be a bit premature to review the Under Surveillance event. Part 1 seems like an appetizer for the main course in part 2 where Amelia attempts to execute her plans, which is what the devs are teasing with 4-8 A graffiti(April 8th) all over the trial environment.

As for the cams, personally its perfectly balanced and a fine addition to the game if you look at it as a regular trap like psychosis mines. It somewhat resolves the main problem of traps making you to face your camera to the ground wherever you go because almost every trap currently spawns close to the floor, eg. mines, broken glass, lasers. Now with the inclusion of cams, you have to carefully inspect your surroundings and pay close attention to what's above you rather than staring at your feet all the time.
I just got shocked by the camera behind the wall and Franco invisible spawn right in front of me suddenly. B+ overall are actually pretty great after all the bug and server down this update bring for the actual game play.
