Cool idea indeed, already like the idea RB is doing with the different colored Legendary outfit variants.

It would also be cool if we can choose what part of the outfit to use like only the head or only the body so that we can mix them a bit to make some cool "outfit combinations".

But that should only happen with new outfits, not the ones that we already have because it won't work well, I suppose.

It is a nice idea, but I sadly don't see it happen, because of the way they are connected and often overlap in ways, that wouldn't work with other outfits. Who knows.
