There needs to be a classic gamemode
There needs to be a gamemode in this game that is just plain classic outlast with no way to fight back. Naked and Afraid is the closest we have to this.

I have nothing against the default gameplay, but we should be able to play the classic way too, and not in a rotation, but permanently. Ultra tries to up the difficulty while still keeping all the new additions of this game. The problem is that the restrictions don't really matter as long as items and rigs can still be be used, the game will still be in players' control..

When I play naked and afraid, I am actually afraid of the enemies, because I know that with one more hit I am done and I have no way to recover from that once the first bottle is consumed, and of course I cannot stun them with either items or rigs. It's not exactly the same as classic outlast, but it brings back that feel.

Add a classic gamemode where rigs cannot be used and items are completely removed, including pills/syringes and the batteries from the doors can't be taken after being disarmed. This is how you truly make this game scary. The default gameplay is still fun, but it can't give the same feeling as outlast 1 and 2 when we have so much control over the enemies.

They could even bring back the regenerating health for this game, and make it so certain enemies require 2 hits while prime assets only need one.

been saying that for a while. we need a true outlast experience. the rigs, amps, Rx, bottles/ bricks make the game way too easy. i have been running around without rigs or amps for a few hundred hours now and it's still way too easy.

I love the idea of regenerating health, literally the best idea....just play to survive from the onslaught brought from these ex-pops and prime assets.

you can mimic the feeling by not taking a rig with you and ignoring items in the trial...but being able to build your own trial with all the variators to pick from would be pretty nice to have!

There is something wrong with the game if a player needs to ignore its mechanics to have fun.

I have been playing without items since this post and I must admit the game plays much more fun than having an arsenal of supplies with you; remember, the game has pretty decent parkour so evading enemies should be pretty easy with enough practice of course.

Maybe the changes are for Ultra mode after all, not a new mode:?) The more "same" modes the more you can search for an online group for "hours", just like now you search for Ultra for a long time.
And by the way it would be nice to already do a rotation of trials on Ultra, periodically do it.
By the way according to the roadmap, infinite mode and some more are waiting for us.

Really the previous weekly without rigs option was great, but that's not the limit of difficulty. Even without gear it wasn't very hard there. I think long trials should also be increased in time to be even longer or new trials should be invented.
Also where it says maximum number of enemies, also not really their maximum, their number can be increased too.
Items can be removed, but you have to remember that as soon as you can't lift an ally, they will immediately quit the challenge. Believe me, there are those who are still ready to quit the challenge because they didn't find their key and died. They don't want to wait for you to come for them.
But I still like trials where there is a division of tasks.

Or even better, why not remove the secret room to make it even more challenging and capture the feel of the classic.

There should also be way less items on the map, there are sometimes 10 in each room wtf
