You are not wrong on Genesis being too easy. As for the advanced therapy, the levels/map design does not change, rather the difficulty spikes and players will encounter more EX-Pops and an even more aggressive Prime Asset. I wrote a review as soon as the 1.0 update dropped and what you describing is exactly what I feared new players would experience when playing Genesis, it is way too easy: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1304930/discussions/0/4298194451991879696/
That being said, the game is set for a summer update and that should provide new content for Outlast Trial players, including newbies such as yourself (no disrespect, hope you stick around). Hopefully RB overhauls the difficulty on Genesis to be a little more challenging, your criticism or opinion here matters.
Right now after the release the game has become too easy for early programs and you get used to everything, by the time it does get tough you are already accustomed to abilities, have upgrades, know how the mechanics work etc. In the early access you didn't have any upgraded ability and it was scary and challenging.
in my experience, i'll say its pretty much at a medium diff, no easy or hard in between

You can have tea in Genesis the same way you can have tea with Dr. Jekyll, you know as the player, that nothing of harm will come your way because Dr. Jekyll is not a monster...therefore there is nothing to really fear. That is how I feel about Genesis.
