This game is incredibly easy
Before I say this I have to preface with. I think this is game overall is brilliant. The devs are super creative, and at one point in time this was my favorite game, maybe even of all time. Perhaps I need to **** off and quit my *******. I’m not asking for a restructuring of the basic game, just a new program designed for the audience that is me, my friends, and the people I get matched up with.

Yeah I have a solid amount of time put into the game, but I genuinely didn’t play this game for 4 months and just hopped back on, did all of genesis. Straight A+s (more OCD than a flex), went into ultra, solo A+ every trial on first run. There HAS to be more punishment for an enemy noticing you. I’d be okay with a few enemies being able to outrun you or have better map awareness where they can predict where you might be/go. As opposed to tail you in a dark room reiterating the same ol line about “something is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with my head”… CHECK THE ROOM, guard the room knowing you’re in there, communicate with other ex pop that they know where general area you’re in. An AI that can adapt to how you play the game and predict YOUR movement would be cool. Making a program that is so damn difficult/randomized it’s nearly impossible to complete, two/three prime assets 5-6 constant ex pop, all communicating, roaming the map completely random and with more speed/awareness. Sure they can have weaknesses, sure they can make mistakes, but right now I can predict everything they do. I promise you it’s not a matter of ability, it just comes with the amount of gameplay.

I realize that a lot of people will say “go touch grass” or just genuinely can’t imagine wanting a harder version. Fair, but my friends and I who initially beat this game with/the people I get matched up with in random trials seems to find the current version way too easy (definitely some SBMM involved and I understand they and us aren’t a representation of the entire community).

I just don’t see the downside of making a program that is legitimately impossible. Everyone knows it’s impossible and if you complete it, you’re an absolute psycho. I mean with 3 randoms and one of them legit backed out, we completed “grind the bad apples” on ultra in like 12-14 minutes. Imagine if we actually tried to speed run it?

Define a "solid amount of time." Are we talking 50 hours, 100?

Grind the bad apples is nerfed on Ultra, the Program X version is way harder from early-access. Not to brag but I did the trial solo and got an A+ first try, albeit I have experience but it is definitely easier. Good job though. In general everything is too easy along with earning tokens, instant gratification for reward when you can do easy trials or cheese the harder ones because...well..they are not hard enough.

I believe around 130 hours. But I’ve felt this way since A+ing everything on early access when I had around 50-70 hours. My friends who range from 45-70 hours at the moment feel the same way and they haven’t touched the game in months.

Yeah I mean I A+st everything on early access as well. That’s where 90% of my ~130 hours in the game came from. Truthfully I think I started A+ing everything much earlier than 100hours. Even program omega no rig, no amps, limited prescriptions (minimum 2 players) A+ was just a formality for me and one other buddy (he has around 60
hours on the game). Again, it’s not really impressive considering the amount of time spent on the game I’m just laying the foundation of why I’m saying “I, as well as others would seem to benefit from a damn near impossible trial”

BUNCH OF NOOBS SURVIVAL HORROR IS SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFICULT!!!
I just finished the first trial in 30 min only taking about 2 hits from mobs. I pushed the snitch from start to the execution room without being discovered. And the big guy with the sledge that usually camps by the exit wasn't there. For the first time since I played this I didn't have any fun because it was too easy.
Sure you can get higher difficulty once you finish. But where is the fun when you already know how to do the tasks and know where to go because you already finished everything in super easy difficulty. The difficulty in early access was just about right.

Unfortunately if you're already experiencing this game as "easy", you will find the same result (outside of some minor speed bumps) going forward.

ultra is the only thing that remotely gives challenge.

everything before ultra is baby mode.

genesis is literal tutorial level.
X is probably easy-normal
and Ultra is normal - hard.

With that playtime it's not the game which is too easy, but rather you being too experienced. Most of the games difficulty comes from getting lost in the mazes and needing to escape into rooms you don't know. And on top of that, getting all prescriptions adds even more things on top of that to make it even more easier.

Once you've reached that point (should be somewhere around 20-40 hours, depending on how good you are at remembering floor plans i would say), it's less about getting beaten or scared anymore and more about getting faster, while still reaching high scores (or speedrunning, if you want to get more competitive about it)

This kind of reasoning could be applied to literally every single video game when you apparently spend 80+ hours a week on video games.

I hadnt played the game for months before 1.0

I played EA a bit and program in X was a lot harder than current X. and ultra is a lot harder than EA program X.

generally my point is there is no medium difficulty.

it goes from baby mode easy to hard. and no real inbetween.

and then ontop of that the very experienced players are left with relatively easy trials overall since there isnt anything harder than ultra.
