No person deserves any kind of violence exhibited in the Trials, however, lore is lore and immersion is immersion.
tons of female ones.
hmm
I hope RB updates the game in the future and overhauls some of these Trials for immersion and lore purposes, that also includes gender variety because female Reagents exist in the universe, yet as of now, they share no real presence in the Outlast Trials aside from Doris (who resides in the sleep room and offers perks).
Edit: Open the gates has female torsos nailed to the wall (looks pretty gnarly) but that is a minority compared to the former. The same map (first area upstairs) has entire room full of male corpses stacked in a pile, whilst the next room over, there is a non-damaged woman, it is hard to tell, but there is not a scratch on him/her for some reason.
In many contexts, yes, but not all of them. Female nudity is often okay so long as it is perceived as "empowering" and doesn't feature a woman who is beautiful in a traditional sense. Some of the female ex-pops are naked, but they're disgusting so it's okay (but I think it makes sense for them to be disgusting given that they are ex-pops). These double standards exist everywhere in gaming. Take for instance the difference in reception between Lady Dimitrescu and Eve from Stellar Blade. Lady D is very large and physically strong, so it's implied she would be dominant in any sort of relationship, which would be considered non-traditional. Some might even call it "queer," so thirsting after her is okay. Eve is very feminine and more conventionally attractive, so thirsting after her is not acceptable. Or consider Baldur's Gate 3, the sex and nudity is done in a way that caters to the sensibilities of western developers and journalists. This gives us the term "safe horny," which is similar to being "safe edgy." You can be horny and edgy so long as it in a way that has been pre-approved and isn't actually offensive or shocking.
It's important to understand the nuance because people will inevitably bring up these examples as a way to gaslight you and pretend this stuff isn't happening.
also there are female reagent bodies / mutiliated corpses, just far less main victims
Thanks for the points, folks.
