Halloween Program Grind
I read that you need ~150 pumpkin coins to get all the halloween items. Since most of the Giester programs only offer 1 coin, does that mean I have to play ~100-150 trials if I want to get everything? That seems kind of ridiculous considering there are only 7ish halloween trials to choose from. Are they trying to artificially increase the length it takes to 100% the halloween event?

I would have much rather them make the giester event really difficult and offer more coins/awards per trial. Compared to program omega, this is mindlessly easy and I can only imagine how exhausted I would feel trying to get everything.

You need 144 tokens total. So the small mini trials offer 1 token. Normal big trials offer 2. You need 2 tokens per item. So depending on how you wanna grind it. It could be 72 big trials or 144 small trials. Having 2-3 weeks to do that isn't a lot if you think about it. Could do 10 trials a day and get it finished. Though I agree with the fact that I wish some items were 1 token (like the icons) but the grind isn't as bad as it seems. If you play the game, the Halloween event itself nightly you'll have it finished in about a week or so; it only seems longer cause you're not getting a lot of tokens in a small amount of time. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Well, yes but if you know the trials you can complete them under 5 min. The main problem is that it gets repetitive and tiresome quickly

it's really not that bad, you also don't NEED everything

Yeah, I agree that it isn't that bad of a grind, the difficulty is not the issue. It just feels. . . not fun to replay the exact same 8(ish) really easy trials 72-144 times.

Yea I feel that. I've been mixing it up with different rigs and amps to make it go by a bit faster.

It wouldn't be so bad if each trial didn't come with such a long introduction with all those animations. They're interesting at first but get old quick, should have the option to disable after some times I wish...

Those intros and stuff are to let the game load. Without the intro it'll just be you sitting in a chair in the subway waiting for the game to load.

I'm probably wrong, but I was always under the impression that the trial loading didnt start until after the cutscene finished. Regardless, I am in agreeance with Bointo that a large portion of the frustration with grinding trials is the whole process of leaving -> sleep room -> enter shuttle -> cutscene -> loading -> re-enter trial. It can take up to 5 minutes if you have a group of four you need to wait on. I wish there was a quick "replay" button that you could press at the end of each trial after you get your rewards/xp/stats.

they should add more maps that give you event currencies to these events as the game evolves, so the map pool becomes bigger

Oh I also agree it sucks having to spend more time out of the trial waiting to get back into the trial. A quick replay button would be a great feature.

Honestly, they should give pumpkin dollars out for normal trials or at least the new "act 4" trials so more people try them out. Right now, the only way to reliably generate these pumpkin coins at a steady rate is to run the quarantine mission repeatedly.

I have 194 rn :(

I hope they turn into money or something when the event is over

me and friend got cleanse the orphans for 2 tokens down to a 6 minute average as a duo so we ran that for a bit and got it done rather quickly.

Good for you. Doesn't make it less tedious or boring. People want to have fun not enslave themselves into Speedrunning a game for hours
