Bought this on Epic, considering getting it again on Steam, will there be a way to transfer character data?
I ended up picking this up on Epic when they had a sale, but in hindsight I think i'd rather own it on here. Is there any way to transfer my profile if I buy another copy, or will I be forced to completely start over?

Right now? No. Games that have cross progression, like Dead by Daylight for example, have their own login system independent of whatever store you are on. In DBDs case you have to create a BHVR account in order to use the cross progression system. I've not seen anything like this on Outlast Trials, but that isn't to say they wont ever add this feature in the future.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured just because, as you said, there isn't a setup like with Dead By Daylight where progress is tied to an account, but here's to hoping they maybe implement that after early access.

I honestly bought this when it was on sale with Epic with the intent to play a bit and refund, because I didn't think i'd probably like it. I get really bored with Dead by Daylight because of the simplistic mechanics and regardless of theme, you're still doing the same thing over and over. However I ended up loving this. Turns out i'm just not a fan of asymmetrical multiplayer, at all. I think it takes the entire horror, and fear aspect out of it, and makes it feel more like a competitive sport. When it's a shared co op experience like this is, it feels much more like an actual horror experience, and I really love it (and the unique different objectives helps as well), so now i'm in a conundrum because i've progressed pretty far, but none of my friends that own this have it on Epic :(

Guess i'll wait until launch, and if they don't offer an option for cross progression, I guess i'll probably, begrudgingly start over :(

That's a bummer. Still hoping there will be an option at some point to have an Outlast Trials account that can transfer between versions. If not, I suppose it won't be that hard to start over, but some of the cosmetics, like the upcoming Halloween ones are time limited, so I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't wait, and just get it on here

Crap, lol, it's a dilemma. In hindsight i never should have bought it on Epic

I wish there was a way to merge accounts since I have the same dilemma as you. I bought it on epic way back when it came out and I have so many limited items I don't want to lose... but I prefer to play on Steam
