Enemies in hiding spots
love the game, but does anyone else find the enemies that are sitting in the hiding spots insanely annoying? It is ridiculous and imo not fun just getting jumped and losing half your health (with modifiers), and made even worse knowing that they are the more of a threat than literal prime assets, or 8ft tall giants with clubs/arms the size of flag poles (with a couple exceptions due to modifiers) - the icing on the cake is that you have to abuse your mouse by spam clicking M1 to get out lol

I am not even necessarily asking for them to nerf the damage of them, but it is awful how some of them are clearly audible in their hiding spot (and you can tell easily) and other times they go extended periods of time without any indicator, ensuring you get ♥♥♥♥ on when casually passing by, or even worse, when you are running. I would like to see a frequency of indications increase + maybe slightly increased audio range, but im curious how other people feel about them.

You can always use a brick or bottle to break out of a pouncer's grasp without taking any damage. Teammates can also kick them off of you.

Besides, you should always be carrying at least a brick or bottle with you.

The pouncers not only make very audible noises, but also frequently peek out of their hiding spots. Their indicators are already obvious enough. There is also the Xray rig that reveals them.

They are already easy enough to be spotted and countered that they're relatively useless at damaging or hindering a player.

I haven't encountered any difficulty spotting them. You need to pay more attention to your surroundings.

Also, the pouncers exist to prevent players from simply rushing through the map. This is the same reason for screamers stunning you when you make noise by running near them.

They exist so that players are careful and calculated in their actions, rather than simply going anywhere without worry. The apparent difficulty- according to you- is actually not a detriment to the game's experience but clearly shows the game and its systems are working as intended, which is to make you more wary of your surroundings.

your first point relies on an ability that is not granted to players who just start the game.

secondly, I just explained that the pouncers sometimes are very easy to spot, and sometimes they arent; always in critical situations - you say that the pouncers exist to prevent players from rushing the map, when in my case im getting hit by them over 2/3 of the time due to players running the prime asset / grunts near me in a spot that they will switch targets, as there is nowhere to hide or crouch out of their LoS, so I must also run - I would agree with you in a single player match, considering there you can construct a custom tailored approach and memorize every single spot they hide in, but you cannnot rely on memorizing where every single spot is in a multiplayer game because they will move if they are disturbed.

and in regards to screamers, anyone can trip those off within your proximity and get you killed, yet I dont find that even 1/10th as annoying as getting beat to death by someone hiding in a barrel. I can play around the screamers and deal with the consequences; if you dont want to be hit by it, dont make noise - if you dont trust your teammates, dont be near them if a screamer is around. this is a different dynamic when they are leading sprinters to your exact location from across the map and you get ambushed by a hider (and no, im not complaining about people running things to my location, I simply hate the ambushers)

i just hate that like with the stationary crackheads there's spots on maps where they are completely unavoidable to trigger so i wish throwing ♥♥♥♥ at their hiding spot was enough to scare them off, not that brick meta needs to be any stronger anyway

Those pouncers are extremely annoying, perhaps the most annoying ex-pop in Outlast Trials. They are detectable and avoidable in lockers or crates, but in barrels, they are deadly. I played solo on Program X without any bricks or bottles. Costed me 3 lives.

To make things worse, they can hide and ambush again in just a few seconds. I was once pounced by a Pouncer three times within a minute. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but it happened to me.

+1 yesss I wish there's a way to get rid of them once you notice they're hiding. I don't mind them being subtle but knowing they're hiding and nothing you can do is pretty annoying.

My teammate got jumped and 3rd teammate got jumped at the same spot right after. it's rare but it happens

I wouldn't mind it as much if you could give em a nice satisfying punch to the head, but its just like a "go get em slugger!" chin tap. I find it more annoying that big enemies don't make foot step sounds, but yet they hear yours from rooms away.
