Besides, you should always be carrying at least a brick or bottle with you.
The pouncers not only make very audible noises, but also frequently peek out of their hiding spots. Their indicators are already obvious enough. There is also the Xray rig that reveals them.
They are already easy enough to be spotted and countered that they're relatively useless at damaging or hindering a player.
I haven't encountered any difficulty spotting them. You need to pay more attention to your surroundings.
Also, the pouncers exist to prevent players from simply rushing through the map. This is the same reason for screamers stunning you when you make noise by running near them.
your first point relies on an ability that is not granted to players who just start the game.
secondly, I just explained that the pouncers sometimes are very easy to spot, and sometimes they arent; always in critical situations - you say that the pouncers exist to prevent players from rushing the map, when in my case im getting hit by them over 2/3 of the time due to players running the prime asset / grunts near me in a spot that they will switch targets, as there is nowhere to hide or crouch out of their LoS, so I must also run - I would agree with you in a single player match, considering there you can construct a custom tailored approach and memorize every single spot they hide in, but you cannnot rely on memorizing where every single spot is in a multiplayer game because they will move if they are disturbed.
and in regards to screamers, anyone can trip those off within your proximity and get you killed, yet I dont find that even 1/10th as annoying as getting beat to death by someone hiding in a barrel. I can play around the screamers and deal with the consequences; if you dont want to be hit by it, dont make noise - if you dont trust your teammates, dont be near them if a screamer is around. this is a different dynamic when they are leading sprinters to your exact location from across the map and you get ambushed by a hider (and no, im not complaining about people running things to my location, I simply hate the ambushers)
To make things worse, they can hide and ambush again in just a few seconds. I was once pounced by a Pouncer three times within a minute. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but it happened to me.
