its an early access multiplayer game
sharing some thoughts on most of the criticism I've seen for this game because a lot of it seems rooted in illiteracy.

There's a lot of valid criticism to have for this game, and I'm gonna be real, this game isn't perfect. For example the door mechanics could be more fluid, the AI can be wonky and teleport through doors, and the grading system could probably be improved. However, you'd be hard pressed to see any of these as an issue in any of the negative reviews on this game. The biggest complaint I've seen with this multiplayer game is that it is multiplayer and that makes it "not outlast". However the lore, gameplay, characters, and environments are all pretty obviously in line with what we would want from an outlast game. Most of the negative reviews I've seen are people mad because its made to be multiplayer and that's just embarrassing, like genuinely shameful. Will they make improvements to the singleplayer experience? no doubt, but I imagine the devs are focused on making the multiplayer experience because its a multiplayer game.
TLDR: People shouldn't jump into an early access coop game expecting a polished singleplayer experience.

Yet all this being said, the singleplayer experience is really good in my opinion, and it really just seems like people are mad because they just aren't good at the game. Which is funny because its fundamentally like the other outlast games, so anyone who genuinely is a fan of the series and has played the other outlast games would never have an issue with this.
