The smoke is unbelievably useful, to the point that it'll likely get nerfed. Stun is good while being chased, while mine let's you preemptively place a mine behind you, start cranking a generator or the long valves you need to turn, and it'll protect ya and give you a smoke screen to easily let you finish the task.
After a decent bit of playing, I've come to enjoy blind more, since it can be strategically placed to make safe zones to get around an enemy. It also makes the enemies lose track of you, so that's a big plus also.
The stun rig seems to be decent on all the grunts, but when it comes to the assets (Officer and Gooseberry), it seems to be weaker and make them more aggressive afterwards, so it's a nice, quick getaway in dead ends, but overall, I'd say blind is better.
When it comes to rigs, the best one is the Blind Landmine. Preventative damage is always superior to taking damage and rewards strategy accompanied with map knowledge. Or you could use it just like the stun anyway infront of an enemies face. It is useful not in just one specialization like the other rigs, but with all of them. I used it during the beta and believed it would be even stronger in the full game and I am baffled how this was even allowed to be that good. It's just a shame that this was the one rig I used from the start because now when I go use the other ones they just feel redundant and in need of similar rig altering buffs like how you get Frenzy and an additional proc from the landmine after use... Anyway here's some examples.
Someone is down? Drop the landmine on them and if enemies come near they'll get stunned giving you enough time to heal and recover for the duration of the smoke. Even if they might be downed far away they can crawl to the smoke and any enemy that approaches it will be stunned.
Annoying objective that has your teammates hopping around turns pushing an objective? Put the landmine beneath the area and you can make all difficult holdout sections easy. This is including escape sections that trivializes the intense sections.
Need to carry a heavy object but you know you'll get tuckered out quickly and alert enemies? Bait enemies into your trap and even without the Frenzy upgrade you'll still have more than enough time to book it where you need to put the heavy object.
Did you notice someone's Blind going off and need to escape a chase? Run into the cloud and the enemy will instantly lose you.
This rig is so absurdly good that I've carried teams as the only player with it, it just has the best versatility overall.
It's a good escape shuttle tool especially for harder difficulties where you can stack rig recharge
Blind is okay, but when you're being chased hard everyone trying to escape you don't exactly have time to set one up (although idk how many you can have on the ground at once incase you place one as you spawn)
