Original Blue Shift CD on Windows 10 Pro-64bit
erm...I'm new to this discussion stuff. I have the original Blue-Shift CD from Sierra/Valve. I can install Blue-Shift on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit without a problem, I get to the point where I choose New Game, then the display changes to my desktop but in 1280x960 which is the max res the game can show, but the game doesn't load. I have to kill the Half-Life Blue-shift launcher process in task manager. Any ideas? Does the version of Blue Shift on offer on Steam do the same. Will I need to buy it again? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply. But my windows res is at 1920x1080. It's a gtx 470, easily capable at 1280x960. I'll give it a go, but not confident that's the answer.

unfortunately that didn't work either. I am contemplating purchasing it again from the steam store (only £3.99). It says that XP or later is required. XP wasn't even available when Blue Shift was released. It was Windows 2000 Pro and lower. But I preferred to use NT 4.0 until I had to use USB devices....NT 4.0 wasn't very clever with USB devices. Anyway, enough of the remiscing.

Hey, if you have the problem still:
Go to the video settings (or something like that)
Go to OpenGL
Select the resolution
Click ok
Start the game
It should work fine, if you need further explanation, ask
