Why didn't G-man didn't have interest in barney?

I mean why didn't he take him to stasis like shepard and gordon.He's atleast the luckiest out of the trio,even managing to escape the horror of black mesa with a few scientist on with him.(except he witnessed earth surrender within 7 hours) but why did gman just let the security guy who never gave your beer put any use to him?

Anyway Shepard is the dude who has vanished the X race from Black Mesa but he was basically an OC made by Gearbox... It would be cool to see the entire team (Colette and Gina included) fighting against the combine...

Gina may have died from what i can see.

Think so?,from the looks of it either it is up for the community to find out or valve just got lazy and decided to put it in for fans to speculate who knows.

Maybe because Cross was the default female in a suit so they put her there... (female scientists were planned but not included due to time constraint)

I do think Gman was observing Barney because he gets teleported away at the end, Gman doesn't have to be visible for him to be watching you, think about the amount of times you've seen Gman in HL2, he wasn't always in the same area as you.

Perhaps the G Man took interest in Gordon because he proved to be an uncanny fighting force.

The reason I believe G man didn't get interested in Barney would be probably because Barney didn't face off great threat compared to Gordon and Adrian. I mean the most hardcore stuff Barney had encountered were Alien Grunts and regular HECU grunt. Nothing really impressive compared to Freeman and Shepard who faced alien Leader ( Nihilanth for Xen and Gene Worm for Race X ).

Also both of them had survived some hardcore stuff, Gordon for pretty much anything in HL1 Shepard a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ helipcoter Crash + Black ops + Race X + Xen invader.

Don't forget that both of them have some very good protective device than come in handy, you just need a charger contrary to Barney that have to change Vest and helmet after every firefight.

i belive that at the end when barney is stuck in that little portal loop thing for a few seconds was the g man trying to get him but failed for some reason

Gman knows of Barney, however, he never approached Barney, he observed and waited to see if he would prove himself a decisive man, and therefor he is not. However, during Gordon's 20 yr stasis, Gman finally decides to approach Barney, and informs him of what's soon come, which is the combine invasion, the 7 hour war which will lead to humanity's down fall to enslavement, and the rebellion against to combine. Gman offers Barney a simple task to aid Gordon, making sure Gordon, gets to where he needs to be. Barney agrees, thus Gman helps Barney get into the Combine Civil Protection unit without getting brainwashed, so that he can wait until Gordon arrives to City 17 on the train and confront Gordon, reuniting with him and making sure he get's to Eli and Dr. Kleiner, and yes, Gman has met Eli and Kleiner and Breen, which they all play a huge major role into Gman's plot, Remember, Gman is the puppet master, pulling the strings and he causes the event's to happen, he is responsible for the event's of Black Mesa and the alien and Combine invasion, he was the culprit that made the deal with the Combine, and thus chose specific people such as Gordon, and Shepard to see if they can make it to their end goal without failing, yes, Barney succeeded in saving his scientist and escaping Black Mesa, but that was not enough to impress Gman, he wanted to see what Barney was capable of, and that is the role of support and guidance and advice, which are Barney's strong suits. Which is why Gman later chose Barney, this is a theory. A GAME THEORY!
